Nabil Fekir Reveals Dreams of Playing in Barcelona

Olympique Lyonnais’ midfielder Nabil Fekir revealed his ambitions to become worthy of moving to Barcelona as soon as he comes back at the pitch after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury. It seems that Fekir has not yet given up his hope of making it to Euro 2016.

The 22-year-old attacker has been having some hard time after hurting his right knee at his first appearance for Lyon. He underwent a surgery in September 2015, which left him sidelined for several months.

As a matter of fact, the team, which currently occupies the 4th position in Ligue 1 table, has been lately facing some difficulties in the absence of its No.10 Alexandre Lacazette, who managed to beat some Paris Saint-Germain stars last season, becoming Ligue 1 Player of the Year. In addition, the president of the club – Jean Michel-Aulas – suggested that Lyon could have not lost its positions in the Champions League in case that Fekir had been playing at the time.

In addition, the cooperation between Fekir and Lacazette was pretty formidable, considering the fact the duo has a total 40 goals scored following assistance between them two.

Nabil Fekir has been playing in Lyon since 2013. Last season, he managed to attract the attention of some of the largest football clubs in Europe. He also scored a breathtaking hat-trick in the team’s match against Caen earlier this season, but his injury put him out of game for some time.

Still, the midfielder said he had not lost hope of getting his career back on track after recovering from the injury. He explained that he has a lot of dreams up to date, including getting back on the pitch and giving his best for the team of Lyon, and then joining a big club. Fekir shared his preferences for Barcelona, but he also said that “a lot of work needs to be done” before he is able to join a club of such rank.

So, Fekir is determined to maintain a good form for Lyon, but he also eyes an eventual transfer to the Spanish grand.

The Lyon player is not yet sure if he is to be part of the French No.4 over the upcoming season. Still, he has outlined his ambitions to represent the Barcelona club in the future, as well as to win the Ballon d’Or sometime during his career.

But, first things first, which is exactly why Fekir dreams to be able to get back at the pitch in December. He also hopes to return to action in time in order to be included in France’s Euro 2016 squad.
