The clash between the first-place finishers and the runners-up from the previous season continues in full force during the present one. Juventus have made the perfect start and are looking to extend their run as much as possible. They are the team to beat in Italy, but if there is a squad to challenge them, it is exactly the hosts. Napoli will likely come in form slower but certainly will do their best to win.
The Partenopei beat the Old Lady away from home a year before, blowing open the title race and will try to repeat this success once again.

Key Players Missing

Mattia De Sciglio and Sami Khedira have injuries and may not be fit on time. Douglas Costa will be missing all the next month due to a malleolar injury. The 28-year-old player is also suspended for spitting on Sassuolo’s player Federico Di Francesco two rounds ago.
Amin Younes has an Achilles tendon rupture and will miss the match. Alex Meret and Vlad Chiriches are ruled out but they will rarely take part in the starting eleven anyway.

The Portuguese superstar had a glorious spell with Real Madrid where he went on to win four Champions League crowns in nine seasons but he nevertheless decided to pursue a fresh move with Juventus.
Speaking after United’s 2-0 triumph over Burnley, Mourinho clarified that a deal was ‘never on the table‘ to lure Ronaldo back to Old Trafford despite the transfer speculation over the summer.
In the same interview, he added that the Bianconeri are at an advantage with the arrival of Ronaldo and the Portuguese could enhance their prospects of competing for this season’s Champions League crown.
Meanwhile, United returned to winning ways on Sunday after they secured a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Burnley and they could have easily scored more with the chances up for grabs.
Romelu Lukaku could have had the opportunity to score his maiden United hat-trick from the penalty spot but his chance was taken up by specialist Paul Pogba, who failed to convert his attempt past goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Nonetheless, United go into the international break with some positivity around the club and Mourinho will be hoping that the team can build up on a winning streak when they return in mid-September.
United’s September schedule remains relatively friendly but they need to be wary of the threat from Watford, who have made a strong start to the Premier League campaign under Javi Gracia.
The Hornets have the tendency to beginning with a bang in the every top-flight season and they have once more than that with the team currently one among three clubs including Liverpool and Chelsea to have made the perfect start to the campaign.

The Portuguese superstar has penned a four-year deal with the Bianconeri after they agreed on a near £100m sum for his services from the European champions.
Ronaldo’s future at Real Madrid had first come under consideration last summer after the tax evasion charges levied against him by the Spanish authorities but the Portuguese still decided to remain with Los Blancos with whom he went on to win his fifth Champions League crown.
However, with another campaign beckoning, Ronaldo has finally parted ways with Real Madrid after nine glorious seasons and he now has the opportunity to leave his legacy in the Serie A with the Bianconeri.
Like Los Blancos, the Bianconeri have been constants when it comes to reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League and they have not quite passed the final hurdle after suffering final defeats in two of the previous four campaigns.
As such, Ronaldo could bring a change to their fortunes with his tendency to be more clinical in front of goal and the next campaign could be a true test of his credentials, considering the club have taken a gamble with him during the twilight of his career.
At 33, many players around the world are planning their retirement with a big payday in either China or Qatar but Ronaldo has proved from the season just past that he can maintain his performance levels regardless of his trailing age.
The Portuguese had a relatively quiet start to his final season with Real Madrid where he had managed just two league goals until December but he picked up form during the backend of the campaign to end a nine straight term with 25 league goals.

The Brazil international has constantly been associated with a Premier League over the past year and it appears that the Red Devils are nearing an agreement with their Serie A counterparts.
According to The Sunday Times, the Mancunian giants are leading the queue to sign the former Porto man, who is keen on pursuing a move to Old Trafford during the summer. It is added that an agreement could be reached when their respective seasons come to a close, though the deal is likely to cost in upwards of £50m.
Sandro has mostly featured in the left-wing position under Max Allegri this season and his tendency to overlap his wide players is surely an attribute which will have impressed manager Jose Mourinho.
Despite this, it is unclear whether Sandro could earn regular gametime on the left side of the defence with Mourinho recently affirming that Ashley Young would continue playing a predominant role in the position.
Young has mostly plyed his trade as a winger over the course of his career but he has made a strong impression in the left-back spot this term where he has managed a number of top-notch performances.
One of those came during a 2-1 Premier League victory over Liverpool in March where England manager Gareth Southgate was particularly impressed with the way he restricted the movement of Mohamed Salah into the box.
As such, it will be interesting to see how Mourinho can fit in both Sandro and Young in the same lineup unless he plans to play the latter at right-back ahead of vice-captain Antonio Valencia.
Manchester United ended their league campaign in second spot with an 81-point tally and they now have the chance to contest for silverware this weekend. The Red Devils face Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup at the Wembley on Saturday.

The 50-year-old is currently contracted to the Bianconeri until June 2020 but he has previously talked about the possibility of a Premier League move.
According to The Mirror, Allegri has jumped ahead of Luis Enrique in the Gunners’ managerial list and the club have a ’50/50′ of pursuing his services at the end of the campaign.
Allegri has previously hinted that he would fancy a future challenge in England but the Gunners are unlikely to have an easy route to his signature considering Juventus are planning to reward him with a new contract.
The Bianconeri have literally won another Scudetto after Napoli’s collapse in recent weeks and the club are supposedly planning contract talks following the midweek Coppa Italia final against AC Milan.
Arsenal have been on the search for a new head coach since Arsene Wenger announced that he would be leaving the Emirates during the summer and the club have since been associated with a number of managers, most commonly in Enrique.
The ex-Barcelona coach is seemingly keen on showcasing his managerial abilities in the English top-flight but so far, the Gunners have been reluctant to commit to his staggering wage demands of £15m-a-year after tax.
Wenger won’t be able to celebrate trophy success with the Gunners after recent Europa League semi-final exit to Atletico Madrid but he has nevertheless managed to go on a high at the Emirates, where Arsenal picked up a 5-0 triumph over Burnley on Sunday.
The victory assures them of the sixth position in the standings, something which they won’t be proud about, but the future on the club could be interesting with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Konstantinos Mavropanos exciting the faithful.

Real Madrid progressed to the last four of the Champions League for the eighth consecutive season as they saw through their quarter-final challenge versus Juventus.
The Bianconeri made a stunning recovery from their 3-0 deficit in Turin, but unfortunately they could not oust their European champions, who celebrated a 4-3 aggregate win via a last-gasp Cristiano Ronaldo penalty.
Three things we learned:
Cristiano Ronaldo extends scoring streak: The Portugal international did not have the best of games as he struggled with his finishing. Despite this, the 33-year-old got his opportunity to make the difference right at the end, after calmly slotting in the match-winning penalty in the 97th minute. Ronaldo has now scored in 11 straight Champions League matches, a run which stretches to last season’s final in Cardiff against the Bianconeri.
Gianluigi Buffon’s final Champions League hurrah: Buffon saw his night end in a sour note after being sent off for shoving referee Michael Oliver. At 40, Buffon has already hinted that he could step down from the game, and the Bernabeu match may turn out to be his final outing in Europe. The veteran still has plenty to play for this season, however, with Juventus vying for a domestic double.
Real Madrid on course for another European crown: Los Blancos made history during the previous campaign as they became the first club to win consecutive Champions League titles in the modern era. Zinedine Zidane’s side have struggled with their league form this term, but this has not hampered their European ambition by any means. Sergio Ramos’ suspension affected them during the second leg versus Juventus, and his comeback would surely put Los Blancos in a strong position to claim a third-straight European crown.

Arsenal are reportedly in a two-way battle with Juventus to pursue the services of Real Madrid outcast Dani Ceballos. The 21-year-old joined the European champions from Real Betis last summer, and he has since been restricted of playing time with just two starts in the Spanish La Liga.
According to El Confidencial, the Spaniard is prepared to switch clubs at the end of the season, having been sidelined to a regular role on the substitutes’ bench. The report goes on to suggest that Ceballos does not believe that he can develop further under the tutelage of Zinedine Zidane, and he would consider a fresh challenge, be it a temporary move away from the Bernabeu.
Ceballos came to the Capital outfit after a fine performance for Spain at the European Under-21 Championship. Though La Roja were on the losing end of the competition to Germany, the midfielder was recognised with the player of the tournament award ahead of compatriot and current teammate Marco Asensio.
As per El Confidencial, Arsenal and Juventus are said to be monitoring his proceedings, and the former could be an ideal option, given Ceballos does not mind going into tackles whilst also possessing the physicality to deal with the demands of the Premier League.
The Gunners are seemingly losing hope of keeping Jack Wilshere with his contract expiring in less than three months’ time, and Ceballos could emerge as a bargain option, if they can strike a deal with the La Liga holders.
Nevertheless, Ceballos may seek to play Champions League football for the next campaign, and this is something which is not assured with Arsene Wenger’s side unless they go onto to win this season’s Europe League crown.
On the contrary, Ceballos could also emerge as a quality signing for Juventus, who are likely to replace Sami Khedira in the long-run. Unlike in his formative years, injuries have restricted the German’s play in a positive sense, and Ceballos may see himself slotting into one of the central midfield positions.
Real Madrid are likely to make significant changes to their squad following a poor defence of their Spanish La Liga title, and it will be interesting to see where Ceballos could land up with former side Real Betis also touted as probable contenders.

Serie A holders Juventus are reported to have enquired over the possibility of signing Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial at the end of the current campaign.
According to Premium Sport, the Bianconeri vice-chairman Pavel Nedved had held a discussion with Nelio Lucas, who happens to be one of the representatives of United forward Martial.
Nedved had shown his presence in London owing to Juventus’ Champions League tie versus Tottenham Hotspur, and during the short meeting, the 45-year-old happened to talk about the club’s chances of signing Martial.
Martial, 22, has found himself in-and-out of the starting lineup under Jose Mourinho since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival from Arsenal during the January transfer window, and this has spread speculation over his future, with his contract expiring in June 2019.
United do have the option of another year via an extension clause in the player’s contract, and Premium Sport suggests that the club could sanction his sale for a reported fee of around £57m during the summer.
Despite the speculation, it would come as a huge surprise, if Mourinho considers offloading the Frenchman, who has been one of United’s best performers in the front-line alongside Romelu Lukaku this term.
The arrival of Sanchez has hindered his chances of playing more regularly on the left side of the attack, but there are, however, no doubts over the Frenchman’s potential, having netted the opening goals in three successive games in January with splendid strikes.
With Sanchez presumably undroppable at the moment, Martial and Marcus Rashford are vying for a position on one side of the attack, but the pair are capable of slotting into the same team, should the Chilean feature in the number 10 position.
Most notably, Mourinho has stressed that he won’t be looking to pursue forward-minded players during the summer transfer window, despite the potential departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and this should give a clear reflection on his plans for his existing players.

Tottenham Hotspur entertain Juventus in the Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie on Wednesday night.
The north London club showed great perseverance as they came from two goals behind to secure a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Stadium last month, and they will now be aiming to finish off the tie with a dominant performance at the Wembley Stadium, where they are unbeaten in 15 matches (soccerway) with a seven-match winning streak.
Domestic Form:
Tottenham have improved on their domestic form as the season has gone along, and they are presently occupying the fourth position in the Premier League, with a five-point advantage over London rivals Chelsea. Since the Juventus stalemate, they have failed to win on just one occasion, and that surprisingly happened to be a 2-2 FA Cup fifth round draw versus League One strugglers Rochdale. They, however, got their due reward in the replay, where they secured a comfortable 6-1 triumph at the national stadium, despite having two of their goals chalked off with the help of the Video Assistant Referee.
Juventus have likewise been in a rich vein of form in the Italian top-flight, and their pressure eventually caught up with leaders Napoli, who succumbed to a 4-1 defeat to AS Roma last weekend. As a result, the Bianconeri are just one point behind the Naples outfit, and they could potentially gain a two-point advantage at the top, should they secure a victory over Atalanta in their game in hand. Since drawing with Spurs, Juventus have attained three successive 1-0 wins with clean sheets. The most recent one came in a dramatic fashion against Lazio with Paulo Dybala netting in the 93rd minute of the game.
Players to watch for:
Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur: The England international has already accumulated his career-best tally of 35 goals in all competitions, and he will be eyeing the half-century mark before the end of the season. The 24-year-old spurred Spurs’ comeback with a cool-finish past Buffon during the away-leg, and he is certain to create chances with more than two shots on target per game this term (ESPN).
Gonzalo Higuain – Juventus: Like Kane, Higuain is the Bianconeri’s key talisman. The Argentine scored an early brace against Spurs during the previous outing, but he spurned the chance of a hat-trick from the penalty spot prior to the break. The ex-Napoli man will be buoyed after earning a Argentina recall, and his link-up play with the recently-returned Paulo Dybala could be key to unlocking a resolute Spurs backline.
Prediction:
After falling 2-0 behind, Tottenham looked out of the Champions League contest, but their comeback would surely have boosted their morale. Spurs should dominate the play once more versus Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Juventus

According to reports (Mirror), going on in the media, Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has told club’s record signing Paul Pogba to help him lure the South American attacker.
The 24-year-old La Albiceleste star played with Pogba for just one season at Juve and became close friends, therefore, Jose wants the French star to make use of his friendship and convince Dybala to move to Old Trafford.
Dybala was on fire in the league game against Hellas Verona at the weekend and scored 2 goals to help Juventus earn all three points.
Overall, Paulo has scored 17 goals and provided 4 assists in 26 appearances for the Old Lady in the current campaign. Capable of playing anywhere in the attacking third, Dybala will largely improve Man Utd’s offense he ends up moving to the club.
As per the provided Mirror link, Mourinho is concentrating on luring Dybala in a deal worth 90 million pounds ($121.5million). United want him at Old Trafford this month but it is mentioned that they may have to wait until the end of the season to secure his signature.
