Tottenham need a new center half in the winter transfer window, someone who can replace the injured Jan Vertonghen.
Lately, the North Londoners have been linked with Italian international and Inter Milan center back Andrea Ranocchia.
According to Italian source CalcioMercato, the Nerazzurri are open to sell the 28-year-old defender on loan with a mandatory buy-out clause at the end of the season. The Serie A side are ready to close an agreement with any club who meets the mentioned demands.
Ranocchia was a key member of the Italian side last season but he mainly warms the bench nowadays. This season, he has only featured in 5 league games so far.
Andrea has got bags of experiences that can prove to be fruitful for Spurs. He has featured in over 300 club games and has also played 21 times for the senior national side.
He won the Coppa Italia with Inter back in 2010-11 and made it into the Serie A Team of the Year in the same campaign as well.
As per the provided CalcioMercato link, the likes of West Ham and Hull City are also interested in the Azzurri defender. The Hammers recently signed a new center half in the form of Jose Fonte, so, it is highly unlikely that they will move to lure another defender.
On the other hand, the Tigers will find it hard to lure Ranocchia if Spurs are seriously interested. In your opinion, should Pochettino sign Andrea Ranocchia?

not sure about this at all. smart and good in the air, but slow. in all likelihood too slow for the epl. spurs need a starter of genuine quality otherwise they might just as well stand pat. they may just have to go back to 4-2-3-1 for the next couple of weeks. dier and wimmer will have to step up, and the captain will have to hold on to the ball. as long as alderweireld is back before the 11th of february it’ll be fine.
