4-2-3-1: Manchester United's Probable XI with Matic and Morata

Manchester United could not perform well in the Premier League last season but achieved their objective of qualifying for the Champions League by winning the Europa League.
Now, Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his team and bring glory days back to Old Trafford. The Red Devils have already secured the signing of Lindelof from Benfica to reinforce their back line.
As far as the midfield is concerned, reports have suggested that Nemanja Matic is wanted by Manchester United (via Guardian). Moreover, Spanish international Alvaro Morata has decided to join the Old Trafford club this summer (via Express).
The duo will largely improve the quality of Mourinho’s team and it will be intriguing to see how the Portuguese boss will utilize them in his starting XI if they end up moving to the club.

Matic was Jose’s main defensive midfielder when he was in charge of Chelsea and we can expect the Serbian international to partner Herrera in the center of the park. The Spanish midfielder was in terrific form last season and he should be one of the first names on the team sheet.
Pogba mainly played in the No.10 role last season and that might not change next season in Mourinho’s 4-2-3-1 formation. The former Blues boss can utilize a three man midfield formation as well but even in that setup, we can expect Pogba to be more involved in the attacking third.
As far as Morata is concerned, he should replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic and start as the lone center forward up front. Here is Manchester United’s probable 4-2-3-1 XI with Matic and Morata.
