It will be fair to say that Liverpool have done brilliant business thus far and have completed some top deals as we have entered the international transfer window.
James Milner and Danny Ings on a free are terrific captures for the Reds. Moreover, the signings of star playmaker Roberto Firmino and arguably one of the best full backs in premier league Clyne are fantastic.
However, Liverpool cannot stop their transfer activity just yet as they still need quality players for key positions if they are to challenge for top prizes.
Even if the merseysiders opt to play Milner in the central midfield, they still lack someone who can play as a deep lying playmaker.
Someone like Real Madrid’s Asier Illaramendi will be perfect addition. Los Blancos signed the star from Sociedad to replace Alonso. However, the arrival of Toni Kroos from Bayern has hampered his playing time with the Spanish giants. Liverpool must look to secure him.
On the other hand, more important signing is that of a star striker. Sturridge remains injury prone while the likes of Balotelli, Borini, Lambert, Ings and Origi are just not good enough.
Liverpool lost out on Carlos Bacca to AC Milan and are heavily linked with Belgian star Christian Benteke.
However, if Reds are really going to splash sum in the region of 30m for the Villa striker then it is better they look to sign the likes of Lacazette or Aubameyang.

Brendan's Next Key Signing for Liverpool After Clyne

I agree with the assessment made about the Aston Villa/Belgian striker. He’ll not fit into the LFC style of playing and in addition as we’ve seen in tight defences, he’s easily isolated; not mobile and fast enough! For 32m pounds, there are cheaper and best-fit alternatives, for example, Lacazette, Rondon, Porto/Benfica striker? Let us look for best-fit alternatives. We’ve to be in the CL in 2016/17.
Benteke has proved to be good in the BPL with Aston Villa but with Liverpool there is little hope he will shine, we need someone pacey, flexible who can easily fit in Liverpool’s type of play which i do not see in Benteke and which was the reason why Balloteli and Lambert did not impress. Balloteli is pacey but not flexible, Lambert is neither flexible or pacey thus they could not keep up with the likes of Sterling, Lallana, coutinho . Again £ 32m is a lot of money to bargain with, if ever Benteke should be on Rogers shortlist he should be the last option. A deal of that amount over Chicharito, Higuin, Lacazette or maybe Rondon would be understandable if possible.
Any of the mentioned Chicharito, Lacazette or Higuain would be great, although Higuain is not to come as cheap as 32 million. I don’t know anything about Rondon so I cannot really offer an opinion. But for that money they need to forget about Benteke
