While Liverpool have won the race against Manchester United to sign Roberto Firmino from Hoffenhiem. The Red Devils’ main focus is on defense.
Lately, Louis van Gaal’s side have been heavily linked with Real Madrid superstar Sergio Ramos to reinforce their back line.
As previously published on the site, United plan to make an insane move to secure the services of Ramos but signing him from Los Blancos is easier said than done.
Another La Liga, star who has been right up there in the list of defenders United are looking to strengthen their central defense is Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi.
The Argentine star is currently in Chile with the national side for Copa America but wants his future with Valencia sorted out soon.
According to reports today in Spain by Fichajes, Otamendi is desperate to leave Valencia while Manchester United are trying to reach agreement with the player to announce his signing soon.
However, it is claimed that no matter what, Valencia are not ready to budge on the asking price of €50m which is Otamendi’s release clause. United have to act swiftly if they are serious about signing him because now Manchester City are linked with the South American as well.

Why Ramos over otamendi for God sake at 29 in d next 2 seasons he will be off the pace and yet Mr van gaal is opting for Ramos take Van persie as an example before splashing out such ridiculous amount on an ageing player who has less than 3 years in him….. Gush!!!!

I can see the scenerio where teams, agents and players use man utd to to either sell players or get better deals from elsewhere or improved contracts. I never believed we would buy Firmino…..here’s a guy whose value was in the region of 10 to 14M being purchased by ‘pool just to get one over their rivals.
