Manchester United have been in search of quality midfielders since the retirement of Paul Scholes and more importantly Alex Ferguson.
Louis van Gaal has somewhat rectified the midfield problem with rejuvenated Fellaini, Carrick and new signings like Blind and Herrera.
However, they still need more quality in midfield department.
One of the players United have been targeting for a very long time is German international Ilkay Gundogan.
The versatile Borussia Dortmund midfielder had a brilliant 2012-2013 campaign but injury ruined his last season. Gundogan’s quality is well known hence top European clubs are interested.
With Ilkay’s contract expiring in summer 2016 and the player looking for transfer as well, Dortmund will not want to let another top player leave for free. Gundogan claimed:
“Playing outside Germany is one of my big goals.”
“If one day I leave here, I’d like to play in Spain or for one of the big teams in England.”
According to reports, Borussia Dortmund are ready to sell the German international to Manchester United.
Not to forget, other English clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are interested as well.

Try by all your means to sign k strootman this january transfer and is better than iikly guandogan even in terms of age , passing acurate and the likes

Strooman will fit into man utd midfield an hence he can solve the problm left in team, we will love to see strootman in utd jersey. Go utd go for strootman
Kevin Strootman is the best choice for us, and ably supported by either Paul Pogba, Vidal, Sneidjer or Gaitan.
What we need now is a terrific midfielder, whether ks or ig. The longer it takes to get them the less interested they get in the club. I hear ks wants a move to la liga and not epl. So vg, please bring the duo and we stop rotating. Othe clubs dont talk so much. Why should manu’s secrets become so public?? During AF’s reign, you would just see a player in the field, without so much rumour mill. Come on, buy the boys and concentrate on the games instead of rumour mongering.
