In the summer transfer window, Liverpool were the ones leading the race to sign French international Loic Remy.
Not just that, they had agreed fee and only a medical was left for the QPR striker to join Liverpool. However, for some reason, Reds opted to snub Remy and then signed Mario Balotelli.
Whether there were medical concerns or not, Chelsea did not find any and signed him.
Balotelli has been mostly sulking for the Reds since then while Remy has been lively for the Blues.
Last night against Maribor, Remy opened the scored with a brilliant left footed drive to open the scoring for the London side.
Surely Liverpool are to blame themselves for missing out on Remy. Will Balotelli turn any good any soon, only time will tell.

I must confess I am still bemused by this. He was found to be unfit or have a physical condition by our medical staff and we walked away. That’s fair, but to see him running up and down the field with Chelsea, he does not seem to be distracted by too much. Don’t get me wrong, I trust our medical staff, but it is odd to hear about a player with, if my memory serves me right, a heart condition and he goes to a team like Chelsea and responds the way he has. He seems to at least to be offering more than Balotelli and he cost twice as much.
