Arsenal Favorites to Sign Sensational $61m Star in Summer

Julian Draxler SchalkeGunner supporters were hoping that they will complete another marquee signing in winter just like they secured Ozil in summer but sadly it did not happen.
Arsenal have major injury concerns in the attacking midfield department with Walcott and Ramsey out for long.
Hence Wenger tried to sign Julian Draxler from Schalke on deadline day but as usual, Gunners were not willing to pay the asking price.
Arsenal made a 30 milllion pounds bid for the German international but that was not enough that too on the final day when Schalke had no time to sign an adequate replacement.
In the end, the North Londoners lure Kim Kallstrom. However, according to Metro, Arsenal have no plans of giving up and will look to lure Draxler next summer. The playmaker has a release clause of 37 million pounds ($61m).
Arsenal were the main club interested in signing him in January window and they are going to be favorites to hire the services of the sensational talent in summer as Draxler finds them attractive.
Not so long ago, Draxler himself claimed that Arsenal is an attractive club and he may as well be interested in a future move to Emirates.

“They (Arsenal) always have very young players, they play attractive football and that’s what I like.”
“You never know what happens – but Arsenal is a very, very nice team.”

Also the German connection of Arsenal will also help the gunners as they already have the likes of Mertesacker, Podolski, Gnabry and Ozil in their squad.

in fact, arsene Wenger is a complete disappointment. I never believed that arsenal will end up without signing draxler despite various injuries to some of our key players. he has failed the club and should be held responsible for our failure this time around. I’m not happy at all.

    • Richard says:

You’re disappointing cos we have not failed yet. At the start of the season, would you have imagined us in this position? Guess you’re one of the over spoilt fans.

      • Michael Martin says:

Sorry Richard I have to disagree with you, we fans are far from being spoilt, I think most fans can see we need a few players to strengthen our team. A striker is definitely needed!! Why come this far for nothing

        • Gordon says:

Because what the price that the club can afford cannot bring in the player we want, or with equal quality?
Even if we bought Draxler (not to mention the injury news), it still won’t solve the Forward situation as he has not yet been transformed into striker like Henry or RVP, what name/player of immediate impact should Arsene spent money on? Messi? Ronaldo? Cavani?
And the odds that the clubs will be willing to release the player?
And what of the risk of bringing a heavy spent player and not have the same impact expectation all fans want?
All Wenger’s decision are subjected to be criticised and praised no matter what actions/decisions he or the club has made, because all Arsenal fans and related personnel want the club to do well.
Criticisms and Praises should be made base on critical thinking rather than letting rational behaviour getting the best of us.

  4. Mike says:

I’ve watched Arsenal for over fortry years and I’ve never seen such a bunch of pathetic know-it-all idiots supporteres as we have now. Glory hunters with no loyalty. We don’t need ther sort.

  5. Ben says:

You hate Wenger so much that you’re ready to jump on any bit of information that would allow you to criticize or blame him and even in front of a stupid runout, you choose not to use your brain : WHY WOULD SCHALKE PUT A RELEASE CLAUSE SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO KICK IN IN THE SUMMER IF IT’S TO SELL HIM AT THE EXACT SAME PRICE IN JANUARY ??!!! The reality is also that despite whatever higher price they asked, Arsenal were willing to pay. But without any replacement, the price was irrelevant. It just underlines how hard it is to make big deals in January.

  6. Since 66 says:

Agree strongly Richard – didn’t get a new player so get upset fans are not like those of us who understand and love what being a real club supporter is

  7. masele says:
