Liverpool Have Inquired About Signing 23-year-Old Player

All eyes will be on Anfield tonight as Liverpool collide against Chelsea in a blockbuster Premier League contest. However, the supporters of both the teams will also have one eye on the transfer deadline.
Will Liverpool be able to sign someone before the window closes? We shall see.
If the latest reports are anything to go by then the Reds are not close to signing anyone but a certain Real Madrid center forward has been linked.
There have been reports (101greatgoals via Cadena SER) suggesting that the Merseysiders have actually made an offer to sign Dominican international Mariano Diaz from the Los Blancos this month.
However, yesterday, Spanish outlet Eco Diario claimed that Liverpool have just inquired about signing the 23-year-old striker but he does not want to leave the Bernabeu.
Diaz has proved to be brilliant for Real Madrid Castilla and manager Zidane finally gave him his first team chance this season. In 9 senior appearances (only 2 starts), Mariano has netted 5 goals and provided 1 assist for the reigning European Champions.
As per the provided Eco Diario link, Real Madrid have been looking to offload him for quite some time. They even agreed a loan deal with Alaves last summer but Mariano has been stubborn. He has continued to reject every offer up til now and wants to stay with the Spanish giants. (Image: Getty)
