Liverpool should not really sell Philippe Coutinho this summer but if the Brazilian departs then only a world class player should replace him.
One world class versatile midfielder linked with a move to the Reds is Croatian international Ivan Rakitic.
Few days back, we covered a report (via Don Balon) claiming that the Catalan giants have offered the former Sevilla star to Liverpool.
Now, the Spanish source have come up with another report and claimed that the Merseysiders are not interested in the likes of Turan, Rafinha and Gomes but things are different with Rakitic.

Don Balon state that the 29-year-old star likes Jurgen Klopp, who would offer him a starring role if he joins Liverpool.
Last season, Ivan featured in over 50 games in all competitions for the La Liga side, scored 8 goals and provided 7 assists. His current deal with Barca will expire in 2021 and it has a huge release clause of €125m (FCB).
Ivan has got a proven track record and like Coutinho, he can also operate in multiple positions. As per the provided Don Balon link, Messi likes Rakitic, considers him untouchable in the squad and would surely not like him to be sold.

Nonsense. Same as the other rumored offer of Turan, this is Barcelona’s idea of paying less cash for Coutinho while at the same time getting rid of unwanted surplus. Turan is underperforming for the promise. Rakitic is older player in decline. Either reason is cause for Klopp to have no interest (his preference for younger signings and players at peak performance is clear).
So, if Coutinho is sold, expect cash only deal. Replacement? Salah, with addition of Klopp’s preference for similar style in younger form: Pulisic.
So on the one hand Coutinho is Barca’s long-term replacement for Iniesta, but on the other they ‘ok’ with loosing Neymar and Rakitic to land him?
The way klopp is doing his business this summer is not encouraging I still wondering if he has forgotten that Liverpool are in champions league knowing fully well that there is bigger task ahead, he should go get nabi keita at all cost, get a striker and a central defender. He shouldn’t depend on sturrige.
