Done – Joel Pereira Agrees New Deal with Manchester United

Manchester United made two major announcements yesterday. Firstly, they confirmed that the club has agreed a fee to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
Then, they came up with the announcement (Official) to confirm that 21-year-old Joel Pereira has signed a new deal with the Red Devils which will expire in 2021.
The Seleccao player has made two senior appearances for the Old Trafford club so far and in both the games, he was able to keep clean sheets.
He made his Premier League debut in the final game of last season against Crystal Palace and United won that contest 2-0.

Joel was loaned out to Portuguese side Belenenses in the first half of the campaign. He was able to make 10 appearances in all competitions for the Primeira Liga club, conceded 9 goals and kept 4 clean sheets.
As per the provided official Man United website’s link, Mourinho believes that the youngster can become the best Portuguese goalie of his generation.

“I know I have said this before but I really do believe, if he continues his development and continues to work hard, he really can become the best Portuguese goalkeeper of the next generation. Well done Joel.”

Pereira is United’s third choice goal keeper behind Spanish international David De Gea and Argentine star Sergio Romero.
