Liverpool have been in search of a new left back for a long time and they must sign one in the summer transfer window to solve the ongoing dilemma at the back.
James Milner may have done good in the left back position but he is naturally a midfielder and Klopp cannot continue to use him as a fullback.
Yesterday, we covered a report (via ESPN) claiming that the Reds are interested in signing Southampton star Ryan Bertrand to solve the conundrum, but he is not the only LB on Jurgen’s wishlist.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss is eyeing more than a few left backs at the moment and the latest name in the lime light is Swiss international and Wolfsburg star Ricardo Rodriguez.
Liverpool are ready to battle AC Milan to hire the services of the 24-year-old versatile left back, who can also play effectively in the central defense if needed (Mirror).
The British source claim that the Merseysiders have made contact to inquire about signing Rodriguez but they are not ready to meet Wolfsburg’s asking price of 18.5million pounds ($24million).
Ricardo has played 45 times for the senior national side and is renowned for his ability from the spot kick and the set pieces. Liverpool need someone who is good at crossing the ball into the box and Rodriguez has a brilliant left foot for that.
In the current season, the former Zurich defender has featured in 27 games for the Bundesliga side, scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists. In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Rodriguez of Bertrand?
