€29milion Star Wants Over €6million-a-year to Sign with Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed new deals with most of their key players but Toby Alderweireld has not put pen to paper as yet.
Last month, we covered a report (via Daily Mail) claiming that the North Londoners are close to securing a new five year deal with the Belgian international worth £75,000-a-week.
However, the latest reports suggest that the former Atletico Madrid defender wants even more than the above mentioned sum.
According to Evening Standard, Toby is looking to sign a new deal that will make him earn as much as Harry Kane and captain Hugo Lloris. The duo are currently earning over £100,000-a-week, £5.2million-a-year (€6million-a-year).
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has taken some time but eventually agreed key deals with players like Rose, Eriksen, Kane and Lloris.
Tottenham are now keen to sign a new contract with Alderweireld but they must hurry up because Manchester United are interested in signing the Belgian (Via Yahoo Sport), who has a release clause of 25 million pounds (€29milion) in his current contract.
The 28-year-old center half has had a few injury concerns this season but when fit, he has always been rock solid at the back and Tottenham cannot afford to lose him.
In your opinion, does Alderweireld deserve to earn more than €6million-a-year?

No footballer on the planet deserves that kind of remuneration (or even remotely close to it).
It is a crazy crazy world that we live in.
When there is even 1 person living in poverty this type of question is embarrassing.
