Chelsea supporters will be absolutely furious if former boss Mourinho looks to lure top stars from the Bridge. It seems that Jose is ready to do exactly that.
The Manchester United manager is renowned for his defensive system and values the importance of a top defensive midfielder in the side.
The Portuguese boss had the likes of Makelele and Essien at Chelsea during his first reign with the club, Cambiasso at Inter Milan, Diarra at Real Madrid and the likes of Luiz and Matic during his second spell with the Blues.
Manchester United have Morgan Schneiderlin for the holding midfield role. The French international was a superstar for Southampton, however, he had a mediocre last season with the Red Devils.
If reports are anything to go by then Mourinho has moved in to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea this summer. The Ex Porto boss is a huge fan of the “phenomenal” defensive midfielder.
According to Daily Mail, United have made inquiries to hire the services of the Serbian international. Moreover, the Sun claim that even the former Benfica star has made it clear that he wants to join Mouirnho at Old Trafford.
Matic is arguably one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League but even he was far from his best last season.
