Spurs mainly reinforced their attacking midfield and defense last summer. This time around, the North Londoners are interested in strengthening the midfield and more importantly the strike-force.
France based Journalist Matt Spiro claims that according to renowned source L’Equipe, Tottenham are interested in signing two key Marseille players in the form of striker Michy Batshuayi and midfielder Lassana Diarra.
Diarra is an experienced professional who has won the Premier League and La Liga. The former Real Madrid star is playing for the national team after impressive displays in Ligue 1.
The 31-year-old midfielder has an agreement to leave for free (L’Equipe) in the summer and Spurs are looking to take advantage of the opportunity to secure him.
On the other hand, 22-year-old Belgian striker, Michy Batshuayi has been prolific for Marseille. This season, he has directly contributed in no fewer than 29 goals (19 goals and 10 assists) in 44 games for the French side.
Spurs already have a decent midfield and the addition of a strong defensive midfielder like Diarra will further amplify the quality. On the other hand, Batshuayi can be the perfect strike partner and cover for Harry Kane.
