Woodward Praises Van Gaal's Attacking Football – Turn Back Time

Manchester UnitedManchester United were one of the most entertaining sides in the Premier League under the management of legendary Alex Ferguson.
Since Fergie retired, the Red Devils have been largely woeful in front of goal and the over all performances have been boring, especially under Louis van Gaal.
Even after spending heavy sums on top quality offensive players players, Man United’s attacking football has been mediocre.

Last summer, Van Gaal spentt heavy cash to secure the services of Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven and Anthony Martial from AS Monaco. However, the duo have failed to shine and even big names like Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney have been inconsistent.
Manchester United supporters were over the moon when Louis van Gaal led Netherlands side dismantled Spanish side 5-1 in the World Cup 2014. When the Dutch boss was appointed Ed Woodward praised (Official Website) LvG’s liking for attacking football and claimed:

“He’s got incredible energy and very importantly he likes attacking football. If you remember the Barcelona team [he managed] in the late ’90s, who played incredible, attacking football, and those games we had against them in ’98/99, that’s the kind of football Manchester United fans love. It’s part of our DNA,”

United have only managed to score 28 goals in 23 league games this season. Fans have been found booing and/or sleeping in the Theatre of Dreams. All that thanks to the boring football under Louis van Gaal.
