Arsenal have only signed one star this summer in the form of Petr Cech and fans are getting frustrated by lack of signings.
Not to forget, the Gunners have let go more than a few players in this transfer window such as the likes of Lukas Podolski, Ryo Miyaichi, Semi Ajayi, Abou Diaby, Ainsley Maitland-Niles (loan) and Carl Jenkinson (loan).
If reports are anything to go by then Arsenal are closing in to seal their second signing this summer by luring Barcelona youngster Sergi Sampers.
As per the provided Metro link, Spanish source Mundo Deportivo has claimed that Arsenal Wenger is ready to activate the release clause to sign the 20-year-old Spanish international from Barcelona.
Sampers has mainly featured for Barcelona B side as a defensive midfielder and last season featured 34 times in the Segunda Division.
However, he did play for the first team as he featured 3 times in the Copa del Rey for the Catalan giants and also played a game in the Champions League against APOEL Nicosia.
Metro claim that the youngster is frustrated of playing in the second division for Barcelona B and is seriously considering Arsenal’s offer.
Sampers must remember that Arsenal already have an established defensive midfielder in the form of Francis Coquelin in the squad and the Gunners did sign young DM Bielik in the winter window as well.

Wenger is not serious
I don’t see Arsenal signing another player,we are just linked to names,and then a blow because the player targeted is taken by another club or is very costly,may be the manager is waiting for free agents.
Seriously with all the problems that we faced with Giroud failing to convert chances Walcott and welbeck always on injuries,I don’t think samper would help us in any way at this time.what I think Wenger would now be looking for is how he could land Karim benzima or any other striker but not a future replacement for a midfielder.
#any-other-striker.. really? look at giroud stats for last season vs benzema. or walcott even. benzema is good but not truly a massive improvement.. wenger isnt stupid, he isnt just gonna sign someone because of who he plays for. he will wait for the RIGHT player (ozil,sanchez,cech) the money is there now we can afford to. he certainly isnt going to sign “anyone” just to keep the “fans” happy.. the likes of man city, l’pool,united spend money on players they sell on next season and its wasted. #untrendytrend #inwengerwetrust
