Spurs Eager to Complete Superstar Signing – Is He Worth it?

Pochettino-TottenhamWhile Tottenham’s transfer priority is to keep star striker Harry Kane at White Hart Lane, they must also secure another top striker so as to challenge the best of teams next season.
Manchester United have shown interest in signing Kane but it will be baffling if Levy lets club’s star asset join another Premier League side.
As far as improving the strike-force is concerned, Spurs are closely linked with a move for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.
According to reports, Spurs are eager to complete Benteke signing but they are not willing to match his very high release clause of £32.5m. Instead, the North Londoners are ready to add English winger Andros Townsend in a player plus cash deal to sign star striker.
However, is Benteke the right choice? Is he really worth it?
The Belgian star does find form on and off but has never consistently performed well in an entire Premier League campaign. Last season, till February, in 16 league games he only had 2 goals.
In 2013-2014, He scored 10 goals in 26 league games. 4 goals in the first 4 games and remaining 6 from January 2014 to March before he suffered a long term injury that even kept him out of the World Cup.
Lately, the 24 year old star had a terrible game for the national side against Wales as Belgium lost their Euro qualifier.
Kane will always be leading striker when fit and Spurs play a lone striker system. Benteke is not a decent supporting striker as well. Should Spurs change the system to 4-4-2, 3-5-2 just to accommodate him? Will probably have to start from scratch again that way and it makes no sense when Pochettino has finally established a successful system in his first season.
