Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal desperately needs to reinforce the defense in the next summer transfer window.
Apart from a quality central defender, the Red Devils also need a versatile right wingback, someone who is brilliant in defense and also contributes in attack as per Van Gaal’s requirement.
This season, the Dutch manager has mostly utilized Ecuadorian international Valencia as right full back and he needs a natural player for that position with Rafael not deemed good enough as well.
According to latest reports, Manchester United are closing in to sign Porto’s Danilo to fill their right full back position.
As per the provided link, the 23 year old Brazilian international is highly rated and has a release clause of mammoth €50 million in his contract.
Man United are currently in talks to sign him and are hoping to secure his services for a fee far less than the one mentioned above.
Arch rivals Liverpool have been tracking Danilo as well and they will be disappointed if United can sign the quality fullback.
Danilo has featured in 31 games for the Primeira Liga side this season and has been solid at the back. Not only that, he has scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists as well.
Danilo will surely be a long term solution for the position, better option than his veteran compatriot Daniel Alves who is also linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Honestly Clyne is the better option..speaks English, accustomed to the BPL, and is a whole lot cheaper then that. I really hope we get Varela back and can develop him as our RB behind (Hopefully) Clyne. I just don’t think this is a wise move..Let him go to Barcelona where he will end up anyways!
He is too expensive, instead buy the Southampton right back who is cheaper and not a foreign player. He is a versatile defender and very young too.
This trully shows van gaal’s uselessness. How could he accept to offer such huge amount on a defender? we use such sum in coaxing strikers or mid fielders not a defender. Trully van gaal is not the right man to bring back happines.
Bring in astute home grown players like Clyne & Kane…. Stop buying players that would be hugely paid to bring down ManU… Clyne is a better option, still 21, Bring in Kane with Dybala & Let VP with Falcao go, Memphis Depay(the golden boy) should be brought in, let Evans go for Laporte, Varane & defence marshal(Hummel) & not forgetting the midfield bring in strootman, Vidal & Alcantara, then build our young ones in the likes of Pereira, Powell, Lingard, Januzaj, let one of Blackett & McNair go on loan to learn, NB- Nani & Hernandes would be back, so there would be enough competition & options as far as we are playing all competition, definitely once the CL is confirmed I believe De’Gea would sign a New deal, so Van Gaal, work hard to earn a CL spot 3rd for that matter!
