Man United Ratings vs Liverpool – Mata Owns Anfield

Juan Mata Man UnitedManchester United moved 5 points ahead of their arch rivals Liverpool in the race for top 4 spot with a 2-1 victory at Anfield.
The Red Devils normally find it difficult at Anfield but were the dominant side this time around, mainly in the first half.
Liverpool’s midfield could not cope with the pressure and went asleep for the first goal when Herrera easily found his compatriot Juan Mata and the former Chelsea star made it 1-0.
Reds did gain momentum and Lallana missed an absolute sitter in front of goal much to the delight of travelling fans.
In came captain Gerrard, well for only 40 odd seconds as the armband was handed over again to Henderson when Stevie was shown straight red for horrendous challenge on Herrera.
Under pressure 10 men had to break as Mata once again scored, this time with an acrobatic kick to double the lead.
Liverpool did put pressure even with a man down but could only pull one goal back with Sturridge, else they did not create much. Rooney missed a penalty late on as Mignolet made a fantastic save.
Reds face Arsenal away next and it is now a mountain to climb for them to qualify for next season’s CL. Here are Man United player ratings vs Liverpool.

Everything was fine, last minute letting of sturridge was a small mistake, secondly, pressing again with one man down liverpool , was not realized by Man utd. The biggest disgrace was the red card to the so hyped steven Gerard, what a shame to see an experienced player of his kind to have gone to stamp an upcoming young man like herrera, and he looked so pathetic and paranoid. As the icing is above to be decorated at the finish of a cake so was Gerard’s career with liverpool, what a crash down at the end of his season with EPL. The legacy he leaves to the younger players and the generation to come ? After all we can console ourselves with a saying ” to err is human” to forgive is divine. but to be forgiven he should have apologised to the concerned club and individual, which he did it in a hurry, and said sorry to the fans of liverpool, what a shame !
