Liverpool Player Ratings vs Blackburn – Mundane Performance

Brendan Rodgers LiverpoolLiverpool were held to a 0-0 draw at Anfield by Blackburn Rovers as the visitors earned an FA Cup quarter final replay after a hard fought game.
The in form merseysiders were considered favorites to qualify for the semis today but put in a mundane performance against weaker opposition.
Although Brendan Rodgers started a strong squad for the game yet not many impressed, especially the attacking players.
Raheem Sterling was arguably the brightest player in attack but with no end product. Star playmaker Philippe Coutinho was far from his current top form.
Defender Martin Skrtel was stretchered off early on and was replaced by Kolo Toure, defensively Liverpool were not troubled much as Blackburn mainly focused on taking the game to Ewood Park.
Balotelli replaced Markovic in the second half, the Italian did cause some trouble but was mostly resigned to shoot from outside the box and the efforts were dealt with ease. Reds must beat Blackburn in the replay or it will be a major upset.
FA Cup is the only title Liverpool can win this season to give Gerrard a perfect send off. Here are Liverpool player ratings vs Blackburn.

  1. Ian Borrows says:

Unfortunately the title does not truly capture the performance by several players who really needed to step up. Considering the performance put in a City, it is truly a picture of night and day. It was almost embarrassing watching them trying to move forward only for either the move to break down or passes get misplaced. Now they have the joy of a replay, if scheduling goes the way it looks, right in between the Man Utd and Arsenal games. They will have to step up their game and concentration if they want to make it past Blackburn and advance.
