Manchester United need new signings in winter transfer window to further reinforce the squad for the second half of the season.
One department that needs major signings is defense as the Red Devils need someone experienced to lead the line.
On the other hand, one department that really does not need more strengthening is that of goal keeping.
However, it seems that Manchester United are ready to add another goal keeper to their squad in the form of Spanish star Victor Valdes.
United already have arguably the best goalie at the moment in David de Gea and a quality cover in Lindegaard, still they want Valdes.
The former Barcelona star is now a free agent and has been training with Manchester United to re-gain fitness.
According to Spanish source Sport, Manchester United will complete the signing of Victor Valdes in January.
United fans will be furious if that means that De Gea will depart Old Trafford anytime soon because Real Madrid are very eager to secure his services.

Other articles said that de Gea is about to sign a 5-year extension to his current contract with over 100% pay rise. If this is true, little point in signing Valdes who is also a world class goalie. He would be content with being on the bench.

It makes a lot of sense to me for Valdes to become our second choice goalkeeper, but if he’s being lined up to replace De Geaas some reports stated that will be one of the biggest mistakes in Van Gaal’s career. We need to splash the cash for our star man and tie him up for the rest of his career.
