Arsenal bounced back from recent disappointments as they comprehensively defeat Aston Villa side away from home.
The performance against Villa was arguably their best of the new season and Wenger will hope to take that form into the Capital One Cup as well.
However, with the all important North London derby coming up against Tottenham next weekend, Wenger is likely to rest majority of the key players but not all as the league cup game is not even an easy one.
Southampton will be the ones to face Arsenal and the Saints are in top form at the moment as they currently sit in the second spot in PL, a point above the Gunners.
Expect new goalie signing Ospina to start the game, also the likes of Podolski and Rosicky may get the nod for the cup competition.
