Chelsea's New Superstar Must hit the Ground Running

Diego Costa Atletico MadridOver the past few years, Chelsea have missed a consistent goalscoring striker upfront and that has cost them big time.
The last time Blues went on to win the premier league was way back in 2010 and it was also the last time a Chelsea striker scored more than 20 league goals in a season. No points for guessing, he was the legendary Didier Drogba.
However, Chelsea have spent huge cash on many strikers such as the likes of Sturridge, Ba, Eto’o and more notably Shevchenko and Fernando Torres but all failed to shine.
Once again, last season if Chelsea strikers have been any more prolific in front of goal, Jose Mourinho might have won another PL crown.
Now that the Portuguese manager has solved the long going dilemma by signing Spanish striker Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid, Chelsea will hope that he will not be another big money flop.
For that, Costa must hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge and the pressure is going to be sky high.
Premier league is a completely difference prospect versus La Liga as far as goalscoring is concerned. Moreover, Costa will be coming back to football field after a horrific World Cup campaign for Spain.
He does have the traits to become successful at Chelsea but question marks will immediately be raised by the press and everyone if he fails to find the net or perform well in the first few games.
Drogba was not all about goals but was renowned for his overall contribution in attack and that tormenting presence. Can Diego Costa be that man for the Blues, only time will tell.
