After a long wait, it seems that Manchester United are on a roll at the moment as far as transfers are concerned.
Having already secured the services of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, the latest news suggest that United have sealed yet another deal, this time for a Dutch defender.
According to reports, Manchester United have agreed a deal with Eredivisie side Feyenoord to sign central defender Stefan de Vrij.
De Vrij is currently on World Cup duty with Netherlands under the management of new Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal and is likely to be officially announced after the tournament.
As per the provided link, Lazio were eager to lure him but the move did not go through and Van Gaal has taken control in his hand much to the delight of Manchester United faithful.
With the club looking to sign replacements for Ferdinand and Vidic, De Vrij can be considered a quality long term signing but United surely need to sign one more central defender this summer to further reinforce defense.
Like other mentioned signings, Manchester United have not splashed any hefty cash to agree deal for De Vrij, instead the player will be joining the Red Devils for a fee of around $14m.
The 22 year old star featured in all of his World Cup game thus far and also scored a crucial goal against World Champions Spain in the opening game. United fans will surely be focusing on his performance when Netherlands collide against Mexico tomorrow.

we need a vidic/ferd replacement, vermaelin was superup in his fst days in arsenal jersy bt injuries coased him,,, he has all to be a nice replacement if he rediscovers his past form, maybe we do a trial,
on defrij, is good but needs time to impact his worth but miranda to me is the more than perfect replacement although atletico must reduce thea asking price, at 29, £15m is enough.
then we need vidal/kroos type to partner ander, on flanks bring young mempis frm dutch club.

But guys honestly speaking we dont need too many players we only need 2 players a defensive mid and a solid center back like miranda or vermaelen then our team would be complete. The main thing that will make us win the league is Confidence we all know what happens when man utd players have confidence they r just unstoppable even Man city or Chelsea wont stop us. I just want LVG to bring the best out of kagawa and nani, and wen nani is on song not many players can play like him even robben or ribbery lets just keep sum players have confidence and c what happens

I think nani, cleverly, Young, welbg ,Fabio, carrick must make way for vermalen and co. however I believe we may not get Alexis due to his performance in the world cup which barcer won’t let go.
John herrera does both defensive nd offensive, infact is a box to box kind of mdfder, he can do covererup defensvly or move 4wad, dribbling nd passmaster, also eye on goal he is smart. Osego we need atleast more three players to compete wit big guns,, a defender, vermaelen/miranda, then defensive md, kroos/carvalho/vidal thes a winger, sanchez/mempis.
Vidal ain’t good, we need Sanchez and a holding midfilder, go for Cuadrado plz, he is amazing

well, its nice to hear about d progress united are making for d next coming season but d question is dis . are we really reinstating d weaken areas at d club?
my adice rather goes to LVG not to make wrong signings because it seems to me now dat since man united had lost thier slot in d european competitions they hav started splashing too much money on d players who r nt really worth it.

De vrij is a nice signing but we only need now robben or di maria and sell nani vidal/pogba/carvalho buy one of them and another center back miranda. Cleverley chicharto welbeck smalling dont sell them and our playmakers mata and kagawa dont sell them

LVG should sign Hummels, Vidal and Angel Di Maria.
