DONE: Manchester United Activate €29m Clause to Sign Star

Miranda Atletico MadridManchester United desperately need a strong central defending partnership for next season to solve the defensive woes.
Many top center halves have been linked with a move to Old Trafford including the likes of Mats Hummels, Mangala and Martins Indi etc.
However, now there is a new name coming in the media in the form of Atletico Madrid’s Miranda.
According to spanish source AS and further claimed by Daily Mail, Manchester United have activated the €29m release clause of Miranda to sign him.
The Brazilian star featured in 32 league games for the La Liga side and formed a rock solid partnership with fellow South American, Uruguayan star Diego Godin.
29 year old Samba star played a pivotal role in Atletico’s brilliant campaign in which they won the La Liga crown after 16 years and reached the Champions League final.
The Red Devils supporters will be hoping that after all the rumors, they would have sealed the deal for a quality player.
According to another media outlet Daily Star, Manchester United have in fact agreed €29m deal to lure Miranda.
As far as United faithful is concerned, they are not ready to believe in any transfer rumor signing until they see a player in the red shirt of Manchester United.
In my opinion, signing a 29 year old defender is not the best option as after a year or two, the club might be looking for another one. We shall see, how the deal unfolds.

The problem at the back for United does not come from attacking opponents, but instead from United’s very own left back and right back, namely Evra and Rafeal.
Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Chris Smallings are okay to see us up to the Jan Transfer Window.By then, LVG will have a good idea where the replacements are needed and who to buy. Evra is now too slow in coming back and does not cover his area well enough and Rafeal ?????????? like Fellaini hasn’t a clue how to play football and is more of a liability than an asset to the team,,,,i guess thats why he’s not in the Brazilian World Cup squad, it is our own to backs that cause the most problems for our central defenders , they have to cover up for these two idiots on the flanks

Ur z most idiot person i ever seen!!how cud u call legend Evra & Rafa z best idiot??evra has gave his everything to help Manutd for last several years…also Rafa was playing in high level be4 he got long term injury…shut up plastic…!!

    • Olanfe Fatai says:

Chris you have errred, for laying the defensive problem of Man Utd directly on Evra and Rafael despite thier tremendous contributions towards the club. You owe them an reserved apology for calling them idiots. It is too insultive you.i

    • Mitre says:

Agree with Chris 100%, Evra is finished, and as for Rafael, how could anyone think this fool of a footballer is a Man Utd player, he was never good enough, EVER!!!

    • Alapo says:

Chris u are fool for your observation, u are not a man utd fan.

One minute the talk is about Hummels, then Luke Shaw, another about Mangala and now about this Miranda guy but it seems to me its all talk and no concrete capture. Hope history is not repeating itself and towards close of the window period and out of desperation like in the Fellaini case, we hear ‘Manchester United have signed Kolo Toure’

  3. Numeto says:

I still insist am quite worried about our team as they will not get the premium players coming to Old Trafford next season. News alway runing around the samething…not true at all…hope to see someone signed to MUTD soon.

  4. Gabara says:

Chris, idiots cannot reach the levels that Rafael and Evra reached. Only a fool can insult these top quality players. PERIOD!!!

  5. Olanfe Fatai says:

The officials at Old Trafford should be warned the incesant way and manner they diseminate Man Utd informatons concering our transfers. We, the fans are really worried and disturbed.

It a joke…..I was born the year fergie came in charge so all I no is united at the top winning everything so get us back on track with some signing and lvg

If ManU has real interest in Miranda then itz a complete folly. He’s 29 now & might take a season or two to settle during which he’ll be 30. Instead of Miranda coming to United We should’ve kept hold on to Vidic & sign another centre half prodigy or wait for keane & his academy graduates to come up, Vidic still has another 2 best years in him I’m sure & his absence will be sorely missed I bet.

Let’s see how good a coach and man manager Van Gaal is with the players that he has at his disposal.
De gea is improving but lacks presence and needs serious competition
Evra is only around for one more season and will be used sparingly
Buttner isn’t a proper full back but hes decent going forward, Van Gaal will probably give him until January to make an impression.
Evans is our best CB by a mile when fit but he’s injury prone and seems to still need a senior partner alongside him. If he doesn’t get a full season under his belt he may be moved on next summer.
Jones has potential but he needs a lot of coaching and is worryingly fragile. He will be a squad player under VG.
Smalling also needs to be alongside an experienced senior player but he seems a bit more solid and stable than Jones.
Rafael looks great going forward but lacks positional awareness and over compensates for his lack of physique by giving away too many free kicks, often in dangerous areas. Smalling is a more reliable defender imho and can be counted on to do a job at LB. Long term though I wouldn’t be surprised if VG phased Rafael out if he doesn’t get more consistent and reliable.
Carrick reads the game well and has good vision but he isn’t good or quick enough to be either CAM or DM in a team that has to be competing against the best for the top honours. I think he will be a squad player if VG gets his transfer targets.
Fletcher has been a great unsung hero for a decade at United but his health, fitness and lack of pace won’t win him many starts under VG and I think he will either retire or move in the next year or so.
Anderson will never play for United again. I wish I could say the same for Fellaini, Young and Nani. Unfortunately you cant change too many players at once otherwise we could see a dozen players leave but hopefully VG will ship them out over time and it would be no surprise to see Cleverley, Hernandez, Zaha, Welbeck, Kagawa and Valencia, go. Valencia is frustrating, if he had any real trickery and confidence in him he could be our Negredo. I can’t see him lasting more than a year unless he ups his game massively….sadly I doubt he has the ability.
    If I had the budget and the players and their clubs were willing to do business this is the line up I would choose;
    de gea
    Fillipe Luis
    Mangala
    Hummels
    van der Wiel
    Bender
    Rooney
    Strootman
    Mata
    RvP
    Januzaj
    Bench:
    Sperroni
    Evra
    Evans
    Smalling
    Carrick
    Welbeck
    Kagawa
