Arsenal Player Ratings Against Wigan

Arsenal FA Cup 2005Arsenal were on the verge of another huge upset or should we say that an upset actually happened at the Wembley stadium as FA Cup holders Wigan were knocked out by gunners on penalties.
Earlier in the day, Everton won their 7th consecutive league game to move above Arsenal to occupy 4th spot in the premier league.
The response from Gunners was quite horrific as they failed to open up the defenses of a championship side.
For worst, Arsenal went behind after gifting a second half penalty to Wigan, converted calmly by Jordi Gomez.
Having gone behind, Arsenal bombarded Wigan with waves of attack and the pressure paid off finally as in the 82nd minute Mertesacker equalized from close range to take the game to extra time.
Eventually, Fabianski turned hero for the Gunners as he saved the first two Wigan penalties and helped Arsenal qualify for the FA Cup final for the first time since 2005 (when they last won it against United).
Here are Arsenal player ratings against Wigan.

Will that be enough lesson for wenger? I don’t think so he will never change his attitude so arsenal need the change we need some body who is willing to invest in top class players some body who can change the game when under pressure some body with tactics and charismatic young mind who can stand up to croenk and demand top class players ang bring back the old arsenal character

How many lessons does he need, 9 years without a trophy and we scrape home with penalties against Wigan? What would have happened if we had got an easy draw in the CL, not Bayern, and got to the quarter finals? Look how depleted the squad was yesterday, they would have had a match midweek, the semi, yesterday, and West Ham on Tuesday.
How can a situation arise that you play a semi final and have 2 players on the bench (Eisfeld and Akpom) who’ve never played a proper match for the club and would never have been used?
Mr Wenger needs to win the FA Cup, then retire.

That true wenger should win the cup and live arsenal for good or change his kind of person and bring in quality players into the club, I was so weak when watching the match, When i compare the current players to the time of febregas Song and nasri also ven i no that arsenal are going back word in the premier league…

Atleast we’ve goten one trophy in advance now. What we seriously need now is how to clinch the top four spot. Luv you all true gunners despite the many failures.

  3. Simon Kinyua says:

I disagree with your low rating for sanogo who played very well even though he did not score. He deserves more playing time.

    • Jacobs Femi says:

Sanogo deserves 6. He was more involved and played more than Giroud. His goal attempt were more too.
If not for his chest control and pass the equaliser wouldn’t have come. He deserve more

    • Kevin Weaver says:

He’s a striker which means he is supposed to score goals. He’s never scored for Arsenal and doesn’t like like he ever will. Took the BFG to save us!

Cazorla-7.5:excellent performance from santi. Sanogo-5.5-he lacks experience.

  5. Andy says:

Wenger is yesterday’s hero. Look at what. Rodgers has done with Liverpool and Everton with Martinez
His stupidity and delays in the transfer market has cost us dearly. If he had bought in January when we were leading the league but with injury concerns – he did nothing. He has sold unsung heroes like Cliche for $6m and Song – not bought Draxler, Mata, Willian and Hazard when he was in the box seat. He has kept faith with Arteta, Gibbs and Sanogo and has too much power. We will win the FA cup but watch us come 6th next season.
