Player Ratings – Manchester City vs Chelsea

Manchester City had revenge on their minds as not so long ago Chelsea came to Etihad and ended their prolific home record.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men put in a perfect performances against the Blues in the FA Cup to prepare for the upcoming big game against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Chelsea were not really solid at the back like they were in the league game and that gave the Citizens the opportunity to pressurize more in the early stages.
The pressure paid of as former Fiorentina star Jovetic opened the scoring in the 16th minute thanks to a well taken goal.
Chelsea players showed tiredness and even the second half substitutions could not inspire Jose Mourinho’s side to turn the tie around.
In-fact it was City who were dominating in the second period as well and their second half suibstitute, Samir Nasri who returned from a long term injury doubled the advantage to silence the travelling supporters.
