Liverpool FCLiverpool qualified for the Europa League final last night after beating Villareal at Anfield. The Reds will face reigning champions Sevilla in Basel on 18th May. The winner will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season’s Champions League.
Whether or not Liverpool can make it into Europe elite competition next season, they must improve the over all quality of the squad.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to add more firepower in the attack and reports (Talksport via L’Equipe) suggest that Liverpool have moved in with a formal offer to sign Rennes’ versatile attacker Ousmane Dembele.
The 18-year-old French starlet has been in brilliant form for the Ligue 1 side this season.
In 24 league appearances, Dembele has directly contributed in no fewer than 17 goals (12 goals and 5 assists).
Capable of playing on either flank and also as a central attacking midfielder, Ousmane will improve any side.
As per the provided Talksport link, the likes of Manchester City and Dortmund are also interested in signing the young attacker and Rennes want around $29m for their prized asset.
Therefore, Liverpool must act swiftly if they are to sign Dembele.
