No one has been able to replace Scholes as yet and Louis van Gaal wants a complete midfielder for that role.
Dutch international Kevin Strootman has been long targeted by United and Van Gaal and according to reports, United have finalized a deal to sign him.

Nemanja Vidic Man UnitedOther than that, United are in dire need of quality defensive leader as well and numerous top players are linked.
However, as per latest reports, Manchester United have perhaps agreed to re-sign their former captain Nemanja Vidic who currently plays for Serie A side Inter Milan.
Whether or not that is the right move made by Van Gaal or not, only time will tell but United still need a top defender for long term.

There is no better time to sign Strotmann than now. Would have been a double Xmas present for United fans if we managed to also secure services of Marco Reus, Matts Hummells or Ryan Showcross. Why allow all the best players in the world to head for Spain’ Real Madrid….?
