Alex Ferguson – Posh Ruined Beckham’s Passion for Football

Alex Ferguson – Posh Ruined Beckham’s Passion for FootballDavid Beckham may have retired from professional football but the England international is still an icon of the game.
One of the best players the country has produced and still idolized around the world by many. However, Alex Ferguson believes that Beckham could have been much much more had he not lost focus.
Retired Manchester United manager claims that Beckham used to give his all for the game, such was his passion for football when he was young.
However, since Posh Spice came into his life, it changed him, his lifestyle and the focus.
Ferguson stated:

“As a young kid when I got him at 12 years of age his great desire was [to play] some of the best football,”
“He was a fantastic trainer, practiced all the time. At nighttime he would come by with the schoolboys and practice with them. And he was in that collection. And then of course, his life changed, when he married the girl from The Spice Girls, yeah. And his focus changed.”

The legendary manager also added that he was baffled with Beckham’s decision to join L.A Galaxy when he could have still played at the top level in Europe.
He could have done better in his career, may be but Beckham won titles for every club he played for and there is no denying the fact that he still had an illustrious career.
