Time to test Liverpool’s Depth and Versatility

Time to test Liverpool’s Depth and VersatilityThe Premier league leaders Liverpool face a tricky fixture next week against Swansea away from home. The kind of form they are in, Reds should be considered favorites to maintain their perfect record.
However, the latest news suggest that merseysiders face major injury concerns with two first teamers and England internationals Glen Johnson and Daniel Sturridge.
Johnson is all but out of the game and may as well be sidelined for more than 2 months. Sturridge on the other hand is a doubt but may recover in time to start against Swansea.
Having scored in all the games this season, Sturridge has been in red hot form but if he is not fully fit then risking him should be the last thing on Rodgers’s mind.
Now is the time perhaps to test Liverpool’s depth and versatility.
Reds have got more than a few defenders who can cover for the England right back Johnson. Their defensive department that used to be so inconsistent is very strong now and has been the key to their recent success in the premier league.
Luis Suarez is still two games away from completing his ban and if Sturridge is not fit, then what about the striking options.
Rodgers made sure that he signed versatile players this summer and one of those acquisitions included Iago Aspas. Surely the Spaniard will be selected to play centrally in Daniel’s absence.
He is still taking time settling in the premier league but has all the traits of a striker and will be the obvious choice, while Coutinho, Moses and Henderson may be utilized as the other attacking options.
Top teams are able to battle and win games even without their best players and Liverpool may face that test next week, a test of their depth and versatility that may as well show their real strength.
Will Liverpool be able to continue their winning streak against Swans?
