Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a move to Manchester United star Wayne Rooney who may like to stay in England. On the other hand, Barcelona and PSG are also reportedly showing keen interest in him however, United’s stance is clear that Rooney is not for sale. It is all down to Wayne Rooney now.
The Red Devils’s supporters have been anxiously waiting for the first press conference of new manager David Moyes to reply on the ongoing transfer saga of the England international. The former Everton manager dealt with that question like perhaps Alex Ferguson normally did.
The tensions between Moyes and Rooney are inevitable but the manager knows the importance of a player like Rooney and clearly stated that the clubs wants to keep star player. Moyes claimed:
“Wayne is not for sale”
“He is a Manchester United player and will remain a Manchester United player”
Now the ball is in Wayne Rooney’s court as the manager has come out and spoken of his desire to keep the player he managed at Everton.
Rooney was over shadowed by former Arsenal star Robin van Persie who was influential in helping Manchester United win their 20th league title. However, the England international is not really worried about competition at the club.
The main problem is his relation with David Moyes, will he be willing to fix it after all that has been said and done. We shall have the answer soon. On the other hand, Rooney has won it all with Red Devils and may look for a new challenge elsewhere.
Arsenal and Chelsea are both looking for top quality striker. Gunners are linked with Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain while the blues are keen on signing Serie A top scorer Edinson Cavani. Surely, Chelsea have a better chance of luring Rooney as they can afford his price tag and wages as compared to Arsenal who are normally reluctant in paying high.
As already mentioned, now it is all down to Wayne Rooney to decide where he wants to play next season. Will he stay at United? Only time will tell.
