It looks as though, Jose Mourinho’s main target this summer is to land a top quality striker upfront. Chelsea have not been able to get the best out of their expensive forwards, especially in the league over the past few years and the Portuguese manager surely looks to set that right.
Blues have been linked with the likes of Uruguayan pair of Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez. However, Chelsea are getting stiff competition from the riches of PSG for Napoli striker while the Liverpool star may not want to join another premier league club as he has been upset with the way British media has treated him.
Now, the blues are reportedly interested in another star striker, Burak Yilmaz of Galatasaray. The Turkish international scored 32 goals last year and helped his side win the league. Adding to that, he scored 8 goals in 9 appearances in the best club competition in the world, Champions League.
Such performances have attracted interest from numerous top clubs and Mourinho claims that the striker is world class. The Chelsea manager stated:
“Burak could play for any team in the world”
“He is world class.”
The Turkish star is arguably one of the best strikers in the world right now and his performances in Europe’s elite competition clearly proved that. Atletico Madrid were interested in replacing Radamel Falcao with Galatasaray star but they have opted to sign Spanish forward David Villa for cheap.
Yilmaz likes the premier league and showed his desire to move to England in past. With Galatasaray looking to accept the right offer, Chelsea should make the move if they are to sign star striker. Reportedly, Gala want 20 million pounds for their main man and surely that is reasonable for the blues as compared to the likes of Cavani, Suarez and Rooney.
