On Tuesday night two of last year’s semi-finalists will meet at the Olimpico Stadium in Rome. Madrid’s new coach (and ex player) Santiago Solari will have a second taste of the best club competition in the world after beating Victoria Pilzen in his first showing. Roma are 5 games unbeaten and will look to extend that number.

A.S. Roma vs Real Madrid C.F. News

Both teams lost their weekend matches and this ties is great opportunity to get back on track.
Despite the disappointing weekend both teams usually perform well in attacking plan and we can expect a great derby with no key players missing for any of the teams.

A.S. Roma vs Real Madrid C.F. Head to Head

In the last couple of years both teams have met 4 times and the stats are on the spaniards’ side. Real have won all of these games scoring 9 goals and conceding just 1 in the process. The last game was back on 19th September and the Blancos won easily 3-0 at their home. The game is expected to be a tight affair as both teams are almost certain for their places in the last 16 of the competition.

A.S. Roma vs Real Madrid C.F. Stats

Edin Dzeko will be expected to deliver the goals for Roma as he is topping the scoring charts in the competition with 5 strikes (2 assists) to his name. Stephan El Shaarawy is also having a good beginning of the season as he is his team’s top-scorer in their domestic league. Roma’s last loss came more than a month ago, but it was against lowly SPAL side who are genuine outsiders in Italy’s top flight.
Real will enter the game knowing that a draw will pretty much secure them top stop in the group. After the humiliating defeat to arch rivals Barcelona and the following change of coach, Real have won the next 4 games, scoring 15 goals in the meantime and conceding just 2.Despete all that they are still not on the level of the last years when they won the competition 4 times since 2013. Real’s last game was with Levante and they won 2-0 but again didnt impress with their football.

A.S. Roma vs Real Madrid C.F. Predictions

I’ll predict that both teams will score and the game will be over 2.5 goals.
Another interesting option is over 10 corners.

The fixture between hosts Real Madrid and Espanyol will take place on 22/09/2018, starting at 21:45. Real Madrid needs a win after losing 2 points in the championship due to a tie in a clash against Athletic Bilbao in the last round.

Hosts Los Blancos scored a 3-0 win mid-week in a UEFA Champions League game against Roma. Isco, Gareth Bale, and Mariano Diaz all netted goals during the match.
On the other hand, Espanyol has played 4 games since the start of the season, which resulted in 2 wins, 1 defeat, and a tie. Espanyol prevailed over Levante in their last game. There is no room for doubt the players of coach Rubi will lack no motivation in the forthcoming clash against Los Blancos.

Real Madrid vs. Espanyol Odds

The expectations of most analysts are for Real Madrid to prevail in this clash, even more so considering the team is hosting the game on their home stadium Santiago Bernabéu. In our opinion, Espanyol should not be underestimated and may surprise with a win this Saturday, despite the fact they have not hosted a winning match against Los Blancos since 1996.
According to one of the largest bookmakers, bet365, the odds of Real Madrid winning are 2-11 (1.22). The draw is priced at 6-1 (7.00) while a win for Espanyol has odds of 12-1 (13.00).

Real Madrid vs. Espanyol Head to Head

The last three fixtures between the two teams ended with 2 wins for Real Madrid and 1 win for Espanyol.
27 Feb 2018 Espanyol 1 – 0 Real Madrid
1 Oct 2017 Real Madrid 2 – 0 Espanyol
18 Feb 2018 Real Madrid 2 – 0 Espanyol
The two teams have played a total of 31 games – 24 of those have ended in wins for Real Madrid, 4 have resulted in wins for Espanyol, and 3 have ended in ties.

Real Madrid vs. Espanyol News

No Real Madrid players have sustained injuries lately so the only question is who will be in the starting 11, Marco Asensio or Isco.
Espanyol’s left winger, Javier Puado Díaz, will not feature due to injury.
The possible line-ups for the two teams are:
Real Madrid: Courtois, Odriozola, Nacho, Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, Ceballos, Asensio, Benzema, Bale
Espanyol: Diego Lopez, Javi Lopez, David Lopez, Hermoso, Vila, Darder, Roca, Granero, Baptistao, Iglesias, Garcia

Real Madrid vs. Espanyol Predictions

Most analysts predict a sure win with a two-goal margin for Real Madrid. We share the opinion Los Blancos will record a win as hosts although we will not take it upon ourselves to give you an exact score.

The Portuguese superstar has penned a four-year deal with the Bianconeri after they agreed on a near £100m sum for his services from the European champions.
Ronaldo’s future at Real Madrid had first come under consideration last summer after the tax evasion charges levied against him by the Spanish authorities but the Portuguese still decided to remain with Los Blancos with whom he went on to win his fifth Champions League crown.
However, with another campaign beckoning, Ronaldo has finally parted ways with Real Madrid after nine glorious seasons and he now has the opportunity to leave his legacy in the Serie A with the Bianconeri.
Like Los Blancos, the Bianconeri have been constants when it comes to reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League and they have not quite passed the final hurdle after suffering final defeats in two of the previous four campaigns.
As such, Ronaldo could bring a change to their fortunes with his tendency to be more clinical in front of goal and the next campaign could be a true test of his credentials, considering the club have taken a gamble with him during the twilight of his career.
At 33, many players around the world are planning their retirement with a big payday in either China or Qatar but Ronaldo has proved from the season just past that he can maintain his performance levels regardless of his trailing age.
The Portuguese had a relatively quiet start to his final season with Real Madrid where he had managed just two league goals until December but he picked up form during the backend of the campaign to end a nine straight term with 25 league goals.

Manchester United have reportedly failed with a late attempt to acquire the services of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid. The Portugal international has been a key performer for Los Blancos over the past nine seasons but he has supposedly made his mind up for a fresh challenge this summer with Juventus leading the race.
According to The Independent, the Mancunian giants are understood to have approached over the availability of their former player with chief-executive Ed Woodward seeking to make a marquee signing before the transfer deadline.
However, their approach has been snubbed by the European champions who have indicated that talks are already in motion with the Bianconeri for the proposed sale of Ronaldo.
The 33-year-old has managed to achieve everything within reach of club football during the course of his professional career and he is now supposedly eyeing a fresh challenge with Juventus in the Serie A.
The Bianconeri have yet to finalise a transfer fee with Los Blancos regarding the same but widespread sources suggest that the move is the beckoning with the forward having highlighted his ambition to club president Florentino Perez.
Perez has been notorious in turning down bids for the club’s key players over the years but Ronaldo’s exit from the Bernabeu appears likely to happen, unless he is convinced to sign a new bumper contract.
Meanwhile, United’s failure to sign Ronaldo may be regarded as a potential blow, given they have not managed to make any big-name signings during the ongoing transfer window.
United have spent nearly £70m on two recruits in Fred and Diogo Dalot this summer but neither player has the reputation or fear factor which Ronaldo would have possibly brought to Old Trafford.

The Wales international struggled to cement a regular starting role under Zinedine Zidane over the course of the 2017/18 campaign and shortly after the Champions League final, he hinted that he could seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Since then, the European champions have witnessed the surprise resignation of Zinedine Zidane, who has now been succeeded by Julen Lopetegui but the future of Bale remains uncertain.
Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News, Barnett revealed that he has yet to speak with Los Blancos regarding his client’s future beyond the summer. He added that the Welshman is keen on playing regular first-team football at the current phase of his career and the failure to guarantee the same may witness his exit from the Bernabeu.
Bale is undoubtedly one of the best attackers around the world but his injury concerns over the past couple of seasons have hampered his gametime at Los Blancos. Nevertheless, the Welshman could earn a second lease of life under Lopetegui, who has been tipped to hold a private meeting with the 28-year-old prior to the beginning of pre-season.
Regardless of this, the European champions may seek to bolster the squad during the summer transfer window after they failed to offer a strong challenge for the La Liga crown, where they finished 17 points behind eventual winners Barcelona.
The Champions League holders have yet to make any potential signing for the summer but club president Florentino Perez has been backed pursue a new shot-stopper considering the occasional blunders Keylor Navas has tended to make.
As such, AS Roma’s Alisson Becker has been highlighted as the prime option to bolster the goalkeeping position and the next month could give a fair reflection whether they can finalise a deal for the Brazil international.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has reportedly decided to prove himself under new head coach Julen Lopetegui rather than pursue a Premier League return during this summer’s transfer window.
The Wales international scored a sublime brace during the 3-1 Champions League final win over Liverpool last month but shortly after, he presented doubts over his future amid his reduced gametime.
With this in mind, speculation emerged that Manchester United could lodge an attempt to sign the former Tottenham Hotspur man, should Real Madrid decide upon sanctioning the forward’s sale.
However, with the surprise departure of manager Zinedine Zidane, Bale appears to have changed his stance and the Welshman is now keen on proving his worth under new boss Lopetegui, ESPN claims.
Bale’s qualities on the playing field have never been doubted in recent seasons but he has succumbed from numerous injuries which have supposedly dropped him down the pecking order.
During the 2017/18 campaign, Bale was relatively fit during the second half of the season but he still found himself competing for gametime versus the likes of Isco, Marcos Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.
Nevertheless, he could have a new beginning under Lopetegui next season but he may not receive any favours, should he put in a couple of average performances at the start of the campaign.
Meanwhile, the news is likely to come as a genuine blow for Manchester United, who were aiming to seize the Welshman’s uncertainty in order to pursue his services during the transfer window.
United boss Jose Mourinho has yet to find a suitable player on the right side of the attack and based on Bale’s prowess at the Bernabeu over the years, he would unquestionably have been a game-changing signing for last season’s FA Cup finalists.

Liverpool progressed to their first Champions League final since 2007 despite succumbing to a 4-2 defeat to AS Roma on Wednesday night. The Merseyside outfit had already secured a 5-2 advantage from the first leg of their semi-final and this eventually pulled them through by a 7-6 aggregate scoreline.

Three things we learned:
Liverpool get a shot at another final: Since the Champions League triumph in 2005, Liverpool have struggled to make much of an impression in finals, barring the 2012 League Cup where they beat Cardiff City on penalties. By ousting Roma, Liverpool have now reached their third final under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp and the German will be hoping for a better performance. Real Madrid are unquestionably the outright favourites for the final in Kyiv and Klopp needs to sort out the club’s backline, which conceded six times against the Giallorossi.
AS Roma unlucky with refereeing decisions: The Giallorossi needed a huge performance to overturn the tie and they could have at least taken the game to extra-time, had a couple of refereeing decisions gone their way. Roma striker Edin Dzeko was blatantly fouled in the box by goalkeeper Loris Karius in the second half but the Reds survived after the assistant referee wrongly judging him to be offside. Shortly after, Stephan El Shaarawy’s effort on goal was deflected over by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s hand but surprisingly no Roma player asked for a penalty.
Liverpool need to find a quick defensive fix: Despite their progress to the Champions League final, Liverpool’s defensive display was far from impressive with six goals conceded. The Merseyside outfit looked particularly weak on the right side of the defence where Alexander-Arnold was stationed and the teenager needs to find a better positional sense ahead of the Kyiv final. Alexander-Arnold has been found out against fast-paced attackers in the form of Wilfried Saha and Marcus Rashford this term and he could have a difficult night against the likes of Ronaldo, Asensio or Bale, unless he manages to balance the offensive and defensive side of his game.

Real Madrid progressed to their third Champions League final in as many seasons as they fended off the challenge from Bayern Munich. The German champions fought hard to level the scores in the semi final second leg but they eventually lost by a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.

Three things we learned:
Sven Ulreich costs Bayern dearly: Ulreich has been earning plaudits since replacing Manuel Neuer in goal, but the German had a horrendous moment against the reigning European champions. During the early exchanges of the second half, Ulreich misread a backpass which he tried to clear at the final second without much success and this eventually gifted Karim Benzema with the match-defining goal. The strike ultimately proved the difference as Los Blancos scrapped through a 4-3 aggregate win.
Real Madrid march on to yet another final: There has been plenty of talk of Real Madrid being lucky but they have fully deserved their progress into another European final. Unlike some of their rivals, Los Blancos have had to do it the hard way by beating the French, Italian and German champions during the knockout phase and they should now be deemed favourites to secure a third straight Champions League crown in Kyiv.
Karim Benzema makes his mark for Real Madrid: The Frenchman has not had the best of seasons in the Real Madrid shirt and he is currently experiencing his second-worst campaign since arriving at the Bernabeu. Benzema’s selection ahead of Gareth Bale would surely have not gone well with a section of the fans but the Frenchman managed to repay the manager’s faith with a brace on the night. Benzema pounced on the poor organisation from the Bayern defence to head in the opener before taking advantage of Ulreich’s howler to score in front of an open goal.

Real Madrid progressed to the last four of the Champions League for the eighth consecutive season as they saw through their quarter-final challenge versus Juventus.
The Bianconeri made a stunning recovery from their 3-0 deficit in Turin, but unfortunately they could not oust their European champions, who celebrated a 4-3 aggregate win via a last-gasp Cristiano Ronaldo penalty.
Three things we learned:
Cristiano Ronaldo extends scoring streak: The Portugal international did not have the best of games as he struggled with his finishing. Despite this, the 33-year-old got his opportunity to make the difference right at the end, after calmly slotting in the match-winning penalty in the 97th minute. Ronaldo has now scored in 11 straight Champions League matches, a run which stretches to last season’s final in Cardiff against the Bianconeri.
Gianluigi Buffon’s final Champions League hurrah: Buffon saw his night end in a sour note after being sent off for shoving referee Michael Oliver. At 40, Buffon has already hinted that he could step down from the game, and the Bernabeu match may turn out to be his final outing in Europe. The veteran still has plenty to play for this season, however, with Juventus vying for a domestic double.
Real Madrid on course for another European crown: Los Blancos made history during the previous campaign as they became the first club to win consecutive Champions League titles in the modern era. Zinedine Zidane’s side have struggled with their league form this term, but this has not hampered their European ambition by any means. Sergio Ramos’ suspension affected them during the second leg versus Juventus, and his comeback would surely put Los Blancos in a strong position to claim a third-straight European crown.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has reportedly squashed the speculation of him leaving the Bernabeu at the end of the season. The Costa Rica international has received criticism from the club’s supporters in recent times, but he is still focused on staying put with the European champions.
In an exclusive interview with BeIN Sports, Navas dismissed the ongoing gossip which has associated him with a summer exit from the Madrid giants. A recent report from Don Balon claimed that he would prefer to join the ‘new project’ with Arsenal next term, but Navas has seemingly distanced himself from the speculation by citing that he wants to honour the remaining two years of his Los Blancos contract.
Navas’ position with Madrid has been under question during every transfer window with the transfer link with Manchester United’s David de Gea refusing to cease. Los Blancos have supposedly made no contact with the Spain international since his botched transfer during the summer of 2015, but for the reason or the other, Navas’ future has been put into doubt.
Despite this, he has continued to gain the confidence of manager Zinedine Zidane, and his future could more or less be dependent on the Frenchman’s stay at the club. Unlike the previous campaign, Los Blancos have performed averagely in the Spanish La Liga, and this has pretty much ended their title defence with a 14-point gap to runaway leaders Barcelona.
Hence, Navas and Co. are once more expected to be reliant on success in the Champions League, and they have a strong chance of progressing to the last four after beating Juventus 3-0 in the away leg of their quarter-final tie. Wednesday’s second leg versus the Old Lady should be more of a formality, barring a major collapse, and Los Blancos will thereafter be aiming to go all the way to become the first club to lift the Champions League crown in three straight seasons.
