After the international break, the Premier League will be back with one of the greatest derbies of the last 15 years. Chelsea host Manchester United on Saturday in a match of great importance for both teams.
While Chelsea lead the table together with Liverpool and Manchester City, the Red Devils struggle to impress in their worst campaign start since the early 90s.

Chelsea F.C. vs. Manchester United News

In the last round, Chelsea have easily beaten Southampton to reclaim the Premier League leadership after Liverpool and Manchester City made a goalless draw.
On the other hand, Manchester United finally grabbed the 3 points in a dramatic comeback against Newcastle. However, they have to produce much more in order to compete for a Champions League spot this season.
Chelsea have no issues with injured or suspended players and Eden Hazard is in good form, netting 7 times in 8 games.
Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard, and Marcos Rojo will surely miss the clash while Ashley Young is still questionable.

Chelsea F.C. vs. Manchester United Head to Head

8 of the last 10 games between the two teams ended with fewer than 2.5 goals scored.
Manchester United could not keep a clean sheet in 3 successive games against Chelsea.
Chelsea have not lost in 12 successive games while Manchester United won just 1 of their last 5 matches.

Chelsea F.C. vs. Manchester United Betting Tips

Chelsea were not defeated at half time in 36 successive home games while losing just 2 of their last 31 home matches in all competitions.
Chelsea managed to score at least one goal in their last 15 games.
Chelsea won 3 of their last 5 Premier League matches by two or more goals.
Manchester United lost just once in their last 8 matches in all competitions.
At least one Manchester United player got a red card in 3 of their last 8 matches.

Chelsea F.C. vs. Manchester United Prediction

Chelsea come to the match as clear bookmakers’ favourites (1.65 @ bet365) and this does not come as a surprise after a quick review of the two teams’ past games and recent form.
However, as this is a derby match, anything can happen and the odds for Chelsea winning might not be as valuable as some may expect.
Manchester United will do their best to avoid the eventual loss while the Blues usually struggle to score more against the Red Devils.
Chelsea F.C. vs. Manchester United under 2.5 goals (1.90 @ bet365).

Chelsea and Liverpool are facing each other again on Saturday (29 September) after their midweek Carabao Cup fixture which finished in a 2:1 win for the Blues. Liverpool have the chance to get a revenge for that narrow defeat as they were the one-goal lead until the 79th minute. Chelsea’s defender Emerson Palmieri equalized the score and Eden Hazard came off the bench to put an end to the Reds’ hopes with a brilliant goal in the 85th minute.
Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp was not happy at all as became apparent from a comment he made during his after-match interview:
“I think the first goal is offside. Three players are offside – two for sure. They watched it and didn’t think it was offside. We have to take it. This is good preparation for Saturday but we have to defend better.”
Both managers have made eight changes from the weekend as Fabinho made his debut in the starting eleven for the Merseyside team while Caballero, Cahill, Emerson, Christensen, Barkley, Fabregas, Moses, and Morata came in for Chelsea.

Key Players Missing

Van Ginkel will not play for Chelsea due to a knee injury while Loftus-Cheek, Pedro, and Rudiger are doubtful and may not be fit to start.
Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee injury) misses the rest of the season for Liverpool, Origi is injured too.
Lallana, van Dijk, and Lovren are questionable.

Chelsea F.C. vs. Liverpool F.C. Head to Head

Both teams have played 70 matches against each other. Liverpool have 23 victories, Chelsea have 29 victories, and 18 matches ended in a draw. As many as 4 of the last 8 matches have finished in a draw with the same result – 1:1. Both teams have scored in 7 out of the 8 last games between the two sides except the fixture at Stamford Bridge in the previous season, which finished with a victory for the hosts (1:0).

Chelsea Team Form

26.09.18 EFL Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea
23.09.18 EPL West Ham 0-0 Chelsea
20.09.18 UEL PAOK 0-1 Chelsea
15.09.18 EPL Chelsea 4-1 Cardiff
01.09.18 EPL Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

Liverpool Team Form

26.09.18 EFL Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea
22.09.18 EPL Liverpool 3-0 Southampton
18.09.18 UCL Liverpool 3-2 Paris SG
15.09.18 EPL Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool
01.09.18 EPL Leicester 1-2 Liverpool
Both teams are in a blasting form and it is very difficult to predict who will be the winner. They have won their matches in the Champions League, too. Liverpool has won all their league matches so far. The Merseyside team is playing a very pleasant attacking football, with Jurgen Klopp in charge. They just can’t stop winning at the moment, having great players like Mo Salah, Mane, Firmino, and Sturridge in the front, but their weakness in defence can be decisive, especially if van Dijk has not recovered to play in the match.
Chelsea have not lost a single game this season. They have 5 wins and a draw. Maurizio Sarri, who became their manager this summer, has improved the team’s performance as The Blues looked quite miserable with Antonio Conte in charge during the last campaign. Eden Hazard (5 goals and 2 assists) is in top form and we expect he will score again.

Chelsea F.C. vs. Liverpool F.C. Betting tips

Both teams scored in 3 out of 6 Chelsea league games in the current season. In 4 games, it was total goals over 2.5 goals and in 5 games, it was total goals over 1.5 goals. The average number of the overall match corners (for/against) per game is 8.83.
Both teams scored in 2 out of 6 Liverpool league games this season. In 4 games, it was total goals over 2.5 goals and in 5 games, it was total goals over 1.5 goals. The average number of the overall match corners (for/against) per game is 10.1.

Chelsea F.C. vs. Liverpool F.C. Prediction

Our prediction is that Chelsea will achieve a minimal success, inspired by their victory over Liverpool in the midweek match.
Chelsea – Liverpool 1 (2.80 @ bet365)
Chelsea – Liverpool 1 handicap Chelsea -1
Chelsea – Liverpool X (4.50 @ bet365)

West Ham United vs. Chelsea FC Odds

Nothing else than victory is expected from Chelsea. They lead the table with equal points to Liverpool and every mistake may cost them the leadership. On the other hand, West Ham started with 5 straight defeats and managed to beat the under-performing Everton in the last round.
Chelsea win – 1.45

West Ham United vs. Chelsea FC Head to Head

The last three matches between the two clubs were 2-1 for Chelsea, 1-0 for West Ham, and a 1-1 draw in April. However, the draw came in a moment when West Ham were extra motivated to stay in the Premier League (managed to stay with 42 points).
West Ham managed to win just 1 out of their last 6 home PL games.
Chelsea is on a 6 win streak in all competitions.
6 of the last 7 Chelsea matches ended with both teams scoring.

West Ham United vs. Chelsea FC News

Both teams come in the tie with almost full squad. However, some key players for both teams will miss the tie.
Cesc Fàbregas will be the big name missing the game for Chelsea. However, after the arrival of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic, this gap is unlikely to be noticed.
Andy Carroll, Arthur Masuaku, Winston Reid, and Manuel Lanzini are the players who will miss the tie for West Ham.

West Ham United vs. Chelsea FC Predictions

Chelsea is expected to win but the odds for that are not so viable as they are guests.
5 out of the last 7 games between these two ended with more than 2.5 goals scored and both teams scored in 6 of the last 7.
West Ham scored in each of the last 7 clashes with Chelsea. This, in combination with Chelsea’s ambitions, makes both teams to score a very reasonable bet. Both teams to score and Chelsea win is an option for punters who are willing to risk more.
West Ham vs. Chelsea both teams to score – 1.70
West Ham vs. Chelsea both teams to score and over 2.5 goals – 1.95
Chelsea win and both teams to score – 2.87

The Spain international has been with the Blues since the summer of 2014 and during this period, he has racked over 180 appearances across all competitions.
Despite this, his long-term future with the Blues remains uncertain with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign and Corriere dello Sport claims that the Rossoneri may seek to take advantage of the situation.
It is added that the San Siro giants have been trying to pursue the midfielder since his Premier League days with Arsenal and they could be prepared to make a fresh attempt when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
Fabregas has not made a league appearance for the Blues since the start of the campaign and this has largely resulted from him suffering a mysterious knee problem which has kept him out since his cameo in the Community Shield.
In his absence, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante have firmly established themselves in two of the three midfield positions up for grabs and it appears that Mateo Kovacic has sealed the third after making starts in each of the previous two league games.
As such, the Spaniard’s position does not appear fruitful with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley present to provide additional competition but he could yet surprise the doubters by winning over a starting role just like he did under ex-boss Antonio Conte last term.
Nevertheless, Fabregas has yet to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2019 and it will be interesting to see whether he would favour a one-year extension which would go in hand with the Blues’ strict policy for players above the age of 30.
Fabregas, who has won two Premier League titles with the Blues, would be free to discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club at the turn of the year. Should the Blues decide against an extension, they may also consider his sale for a cut-price fee.
AC Milan have already loaned Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea this summer with the option to buy and Corriere dello Sport suggests that they could use their good association with the Blues to lure Fabregas from Stamford Bridge.

The Spain international was linked with both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid during the recent transfer window but he has now highlighted the ambition to stay put with the Blues.
In an interview with AS, Alonso indicated that he has three years remaining on his current deal with the west London giants and he aims to honour the length of the deal at the least. Alonso had found very little success during his Premier League stints with Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers in the past but things have paved for him differently since his Stamford Bridge move in the summer of 2016.
Initially, the Blues supporters were not very excited by the prospect of entertaining a Premier League drop but he has certainly lived to their expectations over the past three years where he has gone on to become the most effective Premier League defender, contributing 15 goals and a further eight assists across all competitions.
As such, the £50,000-a-week (The Daily Star)left-back has indicated that his international recognition with La Roja has come about due to his current Premier League stint and he is presently ‘very happy’ with his role with the 2016/17 English champions.
Aside from Alonso, both Eden Hazard and Willian were linked with probable moves away from Stamford Bridge during the summer but ultimately, the Blues managed to keep hold of the services of both.
Willian had captured the attention of Barcelona during the early stages of the transfer window but the arrival of a new manager (Maurizio Sarri) at the helm convinced him to continue his trade with the Capital outfit.
On the other hand, Hazard personally admitted that it could be time to move on after six seasons with the Blues but he thereafter said that he would remain committed for the ongoing campaign.
Hazard in particular has been disappointed with the club’s failure to qualify for this season’s Champions League and he could part ways with the Blues next summer, should they fail to either finish in the top four or win the Europa League altogether this term.

The Spain international joined the Blues from Fiorentina less than two years ago and he has since established himself as the first-choice on the left side of the backline.
According to Spanish publication AS, the west London giants could sanction the sale of Alonso before the Spanish transfer deadline with Atletico among the main contenders for his signature.
The Europa League holders are presently expecting the departure of Felipe Luis with Paris Saint-Germain leading the hunt for his signature and this has urged manager Diego Simeone to look into a deal for Alonso, who was previously in the ranks of Real Madrid.
Nonetheless, the move does not assure Alonso of regular gametime unlike at Stamford Bridge, given Lucas Hernandez has certainly cemented the left-back position after starring for France during their World Cup triumph.
Alonso has made a strong start to the ongoing season with a goal and an assist from the opening two league matches and AS suggests that the Blues are not desperate to offload his services unless their £54m price tag is matched.
As such, there appears only a minute possibility that the Spaniard may make way from Stamford Bridge, given Atleti would not want to be spending massive sums on a player, who may only command a deputy role at the beginning.
Chelsea have started the campaign with back-to-back league triumphs over Huddersfield Town and Arsenal and the latter of those games witnessed Alonso score the winning goal in a 3-2 victory.
Up next, the Blues make the trip to Newcastle United for a Sunday league meeting and Alonso and co. may have to produce their best performance on the day, given the club have struggled at St James’ Park with no victories in the previous five visits.

Belgium international Eden Hazard may consider signing a new long-term deal with Chelsea, should his requirements be achieved at the end of the campaign. The Belgium international has recently confirmed that he has no desire to leave the Blues during the ongoing season but that may not be the same in 12 months’ time.
According to The Sun, the 27-year-old has no plans to penning a new long-term deal at the moment but he could make the decision by the end of the campaign. The Blues are understood to have already proposed a £100,000 pay rise on his current £200,000-a-week contract but the attacker may not sign the deal unless the club return to the Champions League next term.
The west London giants have failed to qualify for the elite competition in two of the previous three campaigns and Hazard is said to be worried by the situation, given he has in the past cited his ambition of winning the Champions League crown. As such, the attacker appears prepared to play the waiting game and he may only agree upon an extension, should the Blues finish in the top four or manage to win the Europa League altogether.
Chelsea have made a strong start to the Premier League with back-to-back victories over Huddersfield Town and Arsenal, and this has already made new manager Maurizio Sarri a favourite among the club’s faithful. Nonetheless, the Italian has some work to do in the defensive side of the Blues game after they offered numerous scoring opportunities for Unai Emery’s side during the recent London derby which ended 3-2 in their favour.
In both of those matches, Hazard came from the bench to provide an assist but he may start from the off when the Blues make the trip to Newcastle United. The Magpies have had a splendid home record against the Blues with four wins and one draw in their last five matches and it will be interesting to see how the visitors fare this time around.

The Villains witnessed a tough transfer window where they were uncertainties regarding their financial situation but they have still made a good start to the ongoing season.
According to Birmingham Live, the west Midlands outfit are aiming to pursue the services of Abraham on a season-long loan as they look to better their chances of top-flight promotion. Nevertheless, Steve Bruce’s side don’t have a straightforward route to the 20-year-old with several Italian and Dutch clubs hoping to lure him overseas.
Abraham has struggled to break into the Blues lineup over the past couple of seasons, where he has spent on loan with Bristol City and Swansea City respectively. At the present moment, he remains behind both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud in terms of competing for the centre-forward position and he may be best served pursuing another temporary challenge away from Stamford Bridge.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has placed a keen emphasis on trimming the first-team squad before the end of the month and this has witnessed plenty of activity with Kurt Zouma, Michy Batshuayi and Tiemoue Bakayoko making way on season-long loan deals. As such, Abraham may follow a similar route this month, though he may re-consider dropping into the Championship after experiencing Premier League football last term.
Aston Villa endured a frustrating summer transfer window where they were at one stage on the verge of going into administration but thankfully for them, a change of ownership has helped them resolve their financial constraints. John McGinn and Orjan Nyland were the only permanent signings for the Villains before the transfer deadline on August 9.
Aside from this, they have also witnessed loan arrivals with Andre Moreira and Axel Tuanzebe joining them from Atletico Madrid and Manchester United respectively. Barring the Premier League, clubs within the English Football League are permitted to make loan signings until the end of the ongoing month.

According to Goal.com, Fekir was an option for the Blues during the final month of the transfer window but the board decided against making a formal approach after they managed to keep the attacking core of the squad together.
Both Eden Hazard and Willian were touted for potential moves away from Stamford Bridge before the Premier League transfer deadline but eventually, neither parted ways with the Blues despite them not being able to offer Champions League football.
Shortly after the summer World Cup, Hazard hinted that it could be time to move on after six successful seasons in west London but there has not been any transfer negotiation regarding the attacker since with Real Madrid not tempted to make an approach.
On the other side, Willian had been fancied to make a switch to Barcelona but the deal never came to fruition with the Blaugrana opting to sign compatriot Malcom instead after they were priced out of a move.
As such, the Blues are seemingly in a strong position for the ongoing campaign and Goal.com claims that Hazard has been offered a £300,000-a-week deal, should he decide to extend his stay beyond the summer of 2020.
Chelsea have begun their Premier League campaign in a strong fashion with a 3-0 triumph over Huddersfield and they are now scheduled to face cross-town rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

AC Milan have reportedly finalised an agreement to sign Chelsea outcast Tiemoue Bakayoko. According to Sky Sports News, the France international is scheduled to join the Rossoneri on a season-long loan with the option to buy for around £35.6m in the future.
Bakayoko only joined the Blues from AS Monaco last summer but he has seemingly dropped down the pecking order after struggling to adapt to the pace of the Premier League game.
As a result, Maurizio Sarri has already strengthened the midfield with the recent arrivals of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic (loan) and Bakayoko now appears to be heading through the exit door with the manager recently expressing the need to trim the first-team squad.
Aside from Bakayoko, the Blues have also parted ways with Michy Batshuayi and Kurt Zouma on season-long loans earlier in the week, though their agreements are not said to include the option to buy.
Batshuayi has barely got a regular run in the Blues lineup since arriving from Marseille two years ago and he has now been loaned out for the second straight campaign after spending the backend of last season with Borussia Dortmund.
The Belgium international will spend the entirety of the forthcoming La Liga season with Valencia and he could benefit further from the fact that Los Che are plying his trade in this season’s Champions League.
Meanwhile, Zouma has likewise earned another temporary stint with Everton following a season-long loan with Stoke City, where he had good success despite their top-flight relegation.
Bakayoko, who is currently on £110,000-a-week, made 43 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions last season. He was initially fancied as a direct replacement for Nemanja Matic (now at Manchester United) at Stamford Bridge but things have not quite clicked for him in west London.
