AC Milan target winter deal for two-time Premier League winner

Serie A side AC Milan are reportedly looking into a winter agreement to sign midfielder Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea. The Spain international has been with the Blues since the summer of 2014 and during this period, he has racked over 180 appearances across all competitions.
Despite this, his long-term future with the Blues remains uncertain with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign and Corriere dello Sport claims that the Rossoneri may seek to take advantage of the situation.
It is added that the San Siro giants have been trying to pursue the midfielder since his Premier League days with Arsenal and they could be prepared to make a fresh attempt when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
Fabregas has not made a league appearance for the Blues since the start of the campaign and this has largely resulted from him suffering a mysterious knee problem which has kept him out since his cameo in the Community Shield.
In his absence, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante have firmly established themselves in two of the three midfield positions up for grabs and it appears that Mateo Kovacic has sealed the third after making starts in each of the previous two league games.
As such, the Spaniard’s position does not appear fruitful with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley present to provide additional competition but he could yet surprise the doubters by winning over a starting role just like he did under ex-boss Antonio Conte last term.
Nevertheless, Fabregas has yet to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2019 and it will be interesting to see whether he would favour a one-year extension which would go in hand with the Blues’ strict policy for players above the age of 30.
Fabregas, who has won two Premier League titles with the Blues, would be free to discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club at the turn of the year. Should the Blues decide against an extension, they may also consider his sale for a cut-price fee.
AC Milan have already loaned Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea this summer with the option to buy and Corriere dello Sport suggests that they could use their good association with the Blues to lure Fabregas from Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool boss keen on signing £35m-rated Spaniard

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp is reportedly looking into a deal for AC Milan’s Suso when the transfer window reopens during the summer. The Spain international previously plyed his trade at Anfield between 2012 and 2015 before opting for a new challenge in the Serie A.
According to Calciomercato, Klopp is understood to be a keen follower of the player’s developments and the German tactician could fancy an agreement to re-sign Suso during this summer’s transfer window. It is added that the Rossoneri are in no desperation to offload their leading performer and any interested clubs will have to trigger the £35m release clause on his existing contract.
Suso could not make much of a mark during his time at Anfield and much of this was associated with the development of Raheem Sterling during the same period. Since then, the Reds have progressed with Sadio Mane on the right side of the attack and they now have the services of Mohamed Salah to rely upon for the same.
As such, a return to Liverpool could be more of a backward step for Suso ahead of next season and the Spaniard may want assurances of regular gametime from the German before stepping into the Reds shoes for a second stint.
Suso has been one of the Rossoneri’s regulars over the past 24 months and he has managed to maintain a regular spot in the starting spot despite the club’s record spending spree last summer.

Both sides had chances to score over the course of the game, but the Gunners showed more ruthlessness with goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey in the first-half sealing the victory.
Player Ratings:
David Ospina: Secured the Gunners’ first clean sheet in five appearances. The Colombian had a relatively easy evening at the Giuseppe Meazza with the Rossoneri restricted mainly to attempts from outside the box – 7/10
Calum Chambers: Probably one of his best performances of the season. Chambers looked assured on the right side of the defence, and he managed to restrict the movement of Hakan Calhanoglu. Was also a presence in the attack front – 7/10
Shkodran Mustafi: The German was reactive to any long balls in his half. Made a couple of notable errors but did not cost his side greatly, owing to the poor finishing of their opponents – 6.5/10
Laurent Koscielny: The skipper produced a dominating presence at the heart of the defence, and rarely allowed the opposition past him. He will be hoping to continue in the same vein of form for the return leg – 7.5/10
Sead Kolasinac – Kolasinac was not much of a threat in the attack front, but he managed to contain Suso from getting into shooting range. Was injured during the latter stages of the game – 7/10
Granit Xhaka – One of his most assured performances in the centre of the park. Xhaka held his position without wandering forward carelessly, other than his wayward shot at the end – 7.5/10
Aaron Ramsey – Played in a deeper central midfield role, but this did not limit him from making his tireless runs. The Welshman timed his movement perfectly to score the second goal of the game – 8/10
Jack Wilshere – Featuring in the so-called number 10 role, Wilshere was not at his fluent best. He still managed to produce a flawless performance which was demanded for the game – 7/10
Mesut Ozil – The German had received plenty of stick for his average performances of late, but this was not the case versus Milan. Ozil assisted both of Arsenal’s goals, the latter with a brilliant through ball for Ramsey – 8/10
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Mkhitaryan looked lively from the off against Milan, and he capped his performance with the opener, which was deflected into the net. Mkhitaryan had another effort which hit the woodwork – 8.5/10
Danny Welbeck- The Englishman proved a better presence upfront than in recent European outings. Welbeck had one clear-cut chance to score, but could not slot the ball past Donnarumma – 6.5/10

However, the north London club passed the test with flying colours after goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey during the first period, assured them of a healthy lead ahead of the home leg next week.
Three Things We Learned:
An improved defensive display: Arsenal had conceded 10 goals during their sequence of defeats prior to the Rossoneri trip, but they managed to avoid any jittery moments against Milan. The hosts were mostly restricted to shots from outside the box, whilst Laurent Koscielny came up with a strong performance as the skipper, for once, after his average showing in recent games. Alongside Koscielny, Calum Chambers impressed with his movement on the right side of the backline.
AC Milan’s struggles in midfield: As the home side, the Rossoneri tried to dominate the proceedings, but they were particularly disappointing at the heart of the midfield. Lucas Biglia, to his credit, made a couple of key interceptions, but his partner Franck Kessie probably had a game to forget. The Ivorian has been Milan’s prime contributor in the central midfield position this term, but his passing game was poor on the night. Kessie handed the possession back to the Gunners on numerous occasions during the second-half, and this slowed down the momentum of the match.
Danny Welbeck’s performance: The England international started once more upfront with Alexandre Lacazette still recuperating from his knee surgery. Welbeck was impressive for the Gunners during the first half with his link-up play, and he continued to offer a presence in a defensive point of view in the second period -where he assisted Maitland-Niles in a couple of situations. Despite this, there will be a sense of frustration among the faithful with the marksman having missed another potential goalscoring opportunity.

The source claim that Milan spent a lot in the summer but they are 11th in the table and would suffer huge losses by not qualifying for the Champions League. Therefore, they are willing to sell Suso to Liverpool. The source further stated that Suso has unfinished business at Anfield but he is somewhat reluctant on moving to Liverpool because he wants to go to the World Cup.
He made his debut for the senior national side back in November last year and has a better chance of earning place in the WC team if he stays with Milan, where he is a superstar. At Anfield, the competition for starting places is very high.
In the current campaign, so far, Suso has scored 7 goals and provided 9 assists in 27 appearances (all competitions) for the 7 time European Champions.
