The Rossoneri are making a hard push to finish in top four this season. They had the bad luck to be equalized in the stoppage time by Emiliano Rigoni with his late goal in the 91-minute last round. The match against Empoli would be a chance to make it up to their fans with a victory.

Key Players Missing

Milan’s players Andrea Conti and Riccardo Montolivo are injured and will not play. Ivan Strinic who has played great World Cup matches is also missing due to heart problems.
Empoli’s list of absentees is a little longer, with the likes of Lorenzo Polvani, Luca Antonelli, Manuel Pasqual and probably the biggest miss of the centre-forward Alejandro Rodriguez, who suffers from a cruciate ligament rupture.

Empoli vs. AC Milan Head to Head

Empoli has not beaten Milan on home ground in Serie A matches since 2004. Their two wins are away from home, the last one (2-1) at the end of the previous season. The Rossoneri have defeated their opponents 3 times in 6 games at Empoli’s stadium, but only once in the last 3 matches. The last 4 games finished over 2.5 goals.

Empoli team form

21.09.2018 Sassuolo 3-1 Empoli (ISA)
16.09.2018 Empoli 0-1 Lazio (ISA)
02.09.2018 Chievo 0-0 Empoli (ISA)
26.08.2018 Genoa 2-1 Empoli (ISA)
19.08.2018 Empoli 2-0 Cagliari (ISA)

Milan team form

23.09.2018 AC Milan 2-2 Atalanta (ISA)
20.09.2018 Dudelange 0-1 AC Milan (UEL)
16.09.2018 Cagliari 1-1 AC Milan (ISA)
31.08.2018 AC Milan 2-1 AS Roma (ISA)
25.08.2018 Napoli 3-2 AC Milan (ISA)
The home side desperately need to earn points or they will drop under the relegation line, as they are equal with Bologna, both having 4 points. On the other hand, Milan have been performing very impressively since the beginning of the season and it seems like Rino Gattuso’s squad is going to restore the club to its former glory.
Even more so considering the matches against favorites Roma and Napoli demonstrate the progress in the team’s play.

Empoli vs. AC Milan Betting Tips

As we have already noticed the last 4 games finish over 2.5 (1.72 at bet365) goals and we think it is worthy to try out this bet. According to us, it would be a tough game and Milan is going to win with a goal difference (3.7 at bet365).

Currently, both teams have 4 points but AC Milan have a game at hand and an eventual win will send them in top 10 (currently 15th).

AC Milan vs. Atalanta Bergamo Odds

Both teams have equally strong attacking lines and equally weak defensive ones. However, AC Milan have the hosts advantage and that makes them bookmakers’ favourites. Another worthy bet is both teams to score as both are with an average defensive line and have an attacking style.
AC Milan win – 2.05
AC Milan vs. Atalanta Bergamo both teams to score – 1.70

AC Milan vs. Atalanta Bergamo Head to Head

Atalanta have not lost to Milan in 6 successive games.
Milan could not manage to keep a clean sheet against Atalanta in 3 successive games.
Atalanta come into the match with 3 straight losses and no win in 5 games.
Atalanta concede 2.5 goals on average in their Serie A away games.

AC Milan vs. Atalanta Bergamo News

Both teams have injury problems and that will surely affect the game.
Plizzari, Conti, Zapata, Strinic, Montolivo, Simic, and the young talent Patrick Cutrone will miss the game for AC Milan.
After the public criticism Timoe Bakayoko received by the head coach Gennaro Gattuso, he is not expected to start either.
Davide Betella, Marco Tumminello, Marco Varnier will be the ones missing the game for Atalanta.

AC Milan vs. Atalanta Bergamo Predictions

It is hard to make predictions for one such game so early in the season but there are some really valuable bets which you can take advantage of. As discussed, BTTS and Milan win seem to be the safest bets with value for the game. However, if you are willing to take the risk, you can opt for the mixed bet.
AC Milan vs. Atalanta Bergamo win for AC Milan and both teams to score – 3.10

The Spain international has been with the Blues since the summer of 2014 and during this period, he has racked over 180 appearances across all competitions.
Despite this, his long-term future with the Blues remains uncertain with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign and Corriere dello Sport claims that the Rossoneri may seek to take advantage of the situation.
It is added that the San Siro giants have been trying to pursue the midfielder since his Premier League days with Arsenal and they could be prepared to make a fresh attempt when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
Fabregas has not made a league appearance for the Blues since the start of the campaign and this has largely resulted from him suffering a mysterious knee problem which has kept him out since his cameo in the Community Shield.
In his absence, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante have firmly established themselves in two of the three midfield positions up for grabs and it appears that Mateo Kovacic has sealed the third after making starts in each of the previous two league games.
As such, the Spaniard’s position does not appear fruitful with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley present to provide additional competition but he could yet surprise the doubters by winning over a starting role just like he did under ex-boss Antonio Conte last term.
Nevertheless, Fabregas has yet to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2019 and it will be interesting to see whether he would favour a one-year extension which would go in hand with the Blues’ strict policy for players above the age of 30.
Fabregas, who has won two Premier League titles with the Blues, would be free to discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club at the turn of the year. Should the Blues decide against an extension, they may also consider his sale for a cut-price fee.
AC Milan have already loaned Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea this summer with the option to buy and Corriere dello Sport suggests that they could use their good association with the Blues to lure Fabregas from Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp is reportedly looking into a deal for AC Milan’s Suso when the transfer window reopens during the summer. The Spain international previously plyed his trade at Anfield between 2012 and 2015 before opting for a new challenge in the Serie A.
According to Calciomercato, Klopp is understood to be a keen follower of the player’s developments and the German tactician could fancy an agreement to re-sign Suso during this summer’s transfer window. It is added that the Rossoneri are in no desperation to offload their leading performer and any interested clubs will have to trigger the £35m release clause on his existing contract.
Suso could not make much of a mark during his time at Anfield and much of this was associated with the development of Raheem Sterling during the same period. Since then, the Reds have progressed with Sadio Mane on the right side of the attack and they now have the services of Mohamed Salah to rely upon for the same.
As such, a return to Liverpool could be more of a backward step for Suso ahead of next season and the Spaniard may want assurances of regular gametime from the German before stepping into the Reds shoes for a second stint.
Suso has been one of the Rossoneri’s regulars over the past 24 months and he has managed to maintain a regular spot in the starting spot despite the club’s record spending spree last summer.
During the current campaign, Suso has scored 6 goals and added 10 assists in the Serie A and his efforts see the Rossoneri within the cusp of Europa League qualification.
The San Siro outfit are currently just one point ahead of seventh-placed Atalanta after gameweek 37 and they need to pick up three points against Fiorentina or hope Atalanta slip up to guarantee themselves of a Europa League spot.

Arsenal welcome AC Milan to the Emirates Stadium for the second leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie.
The Gunners secured a 2-0 triumph over the Rossoneri on the road last week, and this puts them in a strong position to progress to the quarter-final stage with a positive result on Thursday night.
Recent Form:
The north London had experienced one of their most difficult periods under the management of Arsene Wenger as they succumbed to four successive defeats across all competitions. However, they have since returned to winning ways with a comfortable triumphs over Milan and Watford, the latter in the league, and this puts them in a good frame of mind for the Emirates clash tomorrow. Arsenal are placed sixth in the Premier League with a 12-point deficit to the top-four, and winning the Europa League is essential to their Champions League prospects for next term.
On the contrary, AC Milan have remained unbeaten through their Serie A phase with their previous defeat back in December 23, where they succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Atalanta BC. Their strong run sees them within six points off the final Champions League spot held by Lazio, and they could potentially close the gap further, should they win their game in hand over arch-rivals Inter. Despite this, their only defeat of the calendar year came against Arsenal last week, where they were pretty poor with their showing in the midfield and forward departments, in particular.
Players to watch for:
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Arsenal: The Armenia international was the star-performer for Manchester United during their Europa League triumph last term, and he has showed up in the same vein for the Gunners with a goal and assist in three appearances (whoscored). The 29-year-old has improved with his link-up play with every game that has passed, and he is likely to pose a threat in the Rossoneri box, owing to his attacking instinct, which saw him nearly score a brace at San Siro, barring the woodwork.
Suso – AC Milan: The former Liverpool man was a disappointment during the first leg where he struggled to find a co-ordination with Hakan Calhanoglu and Patrick Cutrone in the attack front. Nevertheless, he will expect more from himself to overturn the deficit, and the Gunners backline may need to guard against his excellent shooting skills from long-range. Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles did a credible job for Arsenal last week, where as they restricted the Spaniard from having shots with his stronger left foot.
Prediction:
Arsenal are likely to have re-instilled their confidence after back-to-back wins, and they should come up with another strong showing, considering Arsene Wenger has a near full-strength side to choose from.
Arsenal 2-0 AC Milan

Arsenal returned to winning ways on Thursday night as they secured a 2-0 triumph over AC Milan in the Europa League round of 16 first-leg at San Siro.
Both sides had chances to score over the course of the game, but the Gunners showed more ruthlessness with goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey in the first-half sealing the victory.
Player Ratings:
David Ospina: Secured the Gunners’ first clean sheet in five appearances. The Colombian had a relatively easy evening at the Giuseppe Meazza with the Rossoneri restricted mainly to attempts from outside the box – 7/10
Calum Chambers: Probably one of his best performances of the season. Chambers looked assured on the right side of the defence, and he managed to restrict the movement of Hakan Calhanoglu. Was also a presence in the attack front – 7/10
Shkodran Mustafi: The German was reactive to any long balls in his half. Made a couple of notable errors but did not cost his side greatly, owing to the poor finishing of their opponents – 6.5/10
Laurent Koscielny: The skipper produced a dominating presence at the heart of the defence, and rarely allowed the opposition past him. He will be hoping to continue in the same vein of form for the return leg – 7.5/10
Sead Kolasinac – Kolasinac was not much of a threat in the attack front, but he managed to contain Suso from getting into shooting range. Was injured during the latter stages of the game – 7/10
Granit Xhaka – One of his most assured performances in the centre of the park. Xhaka held his position without wandering forward carelessly, other than his wayward shot at the end – 7.5/10
Aaron Ramsey – Played in a deeper central midfield role, but this did not limit him from making his tireless runs. The Welshman timed his movement perfectly to score the second goal of the game – 8/10
Jack Wilshere – Featuring in the so-called number 10 role, Wilshere was not at his fluent best. He still managed to produce a flawless performance which was demanded for the game – 7/10
Mesut Ozil – The German had received plenty of stick for his average performances of late, but this was not the case versus Milan. Ozil assisted both of Arsenal’s goals, the latter with a brilliant through ball for Ramsey – 8/10
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Mkhitaryan looked lively from the off against Milan, and he capped his performance with the opener, which was deflected into the net. Mkhitaryan had another effort which hit the woodwork – 8.5/10
Danny Welbeck- The Englishman proved a better presence upfront than in recent European outings. Welbeck had one clear-cut chance to score, but could not slot the ball past Donnarumma – 6.5/10
Substitutes:
Ainsley Maitland-Niles – 7/10
Rob Holding – 6/10
Mohamed Elneny – N/A

Arsenal ended their recent run of woeful form as they picked up a well-deserved 2-0 win over AC Milan in the round of 16, first-leg tie at San Siro.
The Gunners had come into the game on the back of four successive defeats in all competitions, but this had brought doubts whether they could compete with the Rossoneri, who were on a 13-match unbeaten streak.
However, the north London club passed the test with flying colours after goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey during the first period, assured them of a healthy lead ahead of the home leg next week.
Three Things We Learned:
An improved defensive display: Arsenal had conceded 10 goals during their sequence of defeats prior to the Rossoneri trip, but they managed to avoid any jittery moments against Milan. The hosts were mostly restricted to shots from outside the box, whilst Laurent Koscielny came up with a strong performance as the skipper, for once, after his average showing in recent games. Alongside Koscielny, Calum Chambers impressed with his movement on the right side of the backline.
AC Milan’s struggles in midfield: As the home side, the Rossoneri tried to dominate the proceedings, but they were particularly disappointing at the heart of the midfield. Lucas Biglia, to his credit, made a couple of key interceptions, but his partner Franck Kessie probably had a game to forget. The Ivorian has been Milan’s prime contributor in the central midfield position this term, but his passing game was poor on the night. Kessie handed the possession back to the Gunners on numerous occasions during the second-half, and this slowed down the momentum of the match.
Danny Welbeck’s performance: The England international started once more upfront with Alexandre Lacazette still recuperating from his knee surgery. Welbeck was impressive for the Gunners during the first half with his link-up play, and he continued to offer a presence in a defensive point of view in the second period -where he assisted Maitland-Niles in a couple of situations. Despite this, there will be a sense of frustration among the faithful with the marksman having missed another potential goalscoring opportunity.

The Gunners are expected to be without the services of Hector Bellerin, who has been sidelined with a knee problem.
Bellerin, 22, was a surprise exclusion from the starting lineup for the 2-1 Premier League defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, and this led to speculation over his long-term future with the club.
However, according to The Mirror, the move was taken as a precaution as the right-back had a tight hamstring, and he now appears to have been hampered by a knee problem, which he had sustained earlier in the season.
As per the report, the Spaniard had completed training as usual with his teammates on Wednesday morning, but the club have left him out for the San Siro trip in order to avoid any long-term issues with his knee.
With this, the north London club are without both first-choice full-backs in Bellerin and Nacho Monreal for the Milan outing, with the latter sustaining a back problem during the League Cup final against Manchester City last month.
Arsenal fans have had little to celebrate about since the turn of the year, and the Europa League now remains their only hope of claiming silverware in what is turning out to be a poor season by their standards in the Premier League.
Prior to the 2016/17 campaign, Arsene Wenger had guided the Gunners to a top-four spot in every season in charge, but this does not appear an assurance anymore with the club very much certain to finish sixth this term.
Winning the Europa League does offer a route to next season’s Champions League group stage, but judging by the Gunners’ form, they are likely to take step-by-step with the upcoming double-legged tie versus Milan critical to their ambitions as well as Wenger’s future.

An in-form AC Milan side entertain Arsenal in the first-leg on the Europa League round of 16 tie on Thursday night.
The Rossoneri have turned their fortunes around under the guidance of Gennaro Gattuso, and they have gone unbeaten across all competitions in 2018. As a result, the former European champions are just seven points adrift Lazio for the final Champions League spot with a game in hand.
On the contrary, Arsene Wenger’s side have experienced very less in the positive point of view after succumbing to a fourth straight defeat across all competitions. The north London club are more or less out of the top-four hunt after falling 13 points behind arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur, and winning the Europa League appears their sole route to qualifying for next season’s Champions League group stage.
Three things to watch for:
Arsenal’s backline: The Gunners defence has been in shambles since the turn of the year, and their organisation over the past month, in particular, is unlikely to bring any sort of sympathy. Since the shock Ostersund defeat, the Capital outfit have conceded eight goals with the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi in central defence, and they could face another tough night on the road. There has been plenty of talk about leadership heading into the encounter, and Koscielny needs to instill confidence among the players with a solid start from the back at San Siro.
AC Milan’s defensive record: Only Napoli and Juventus have accumulated more points than Milan in the Serie A after the midway mark, and much of it has to do with their impressive record at the back. The Rossoneri have also progressed to the Italian Cup owing to their solid backline, and they have currently gone 584 minutes without letting the opposition find the scoresheet. Arsenal will be desperately looking for an away goal, which they could capitalise on in the return-leg, and it will be interesting to see how the centre-back pairing of Alessio Romagnoli, and Leonardo Bonucci cope with the Gunners’ quick passing football.
Danny Welbeck’s influence: The England international has struggled to find form since his return from a hip problem in February. Welbeck started the season in a relatively fine fashion as he contributed three goals in as many league games, but not much has gone the striker’s way since. Welbeck took the excuse of a 4G pitch for his average performance at Ostersund, but he was equally disappointing in the return-leg at the Emirates Stadium, where he failed to convert a one-on-one with the goalkeeper in a shock 2-1 defeat. Arsenal avoided the early scare to progress 4-2 on aggregate against the Swedish Cup champions – in the Europa League round of 32.

Back in November, we were the first to exclusively reveal that Liverpool are ready to re-sign the Spaniard and that he could be the one to replace Coutinho at Anfield.
Lately, reports (Calcio Mercato) have suggested that the Reds are looking to sign the Spaniard in the winter transfer window. Yesterday, GdS claimed (via Edicola rossonera) that AC Milan would not even sell him for 80 million euros.
However, we have gathered more information and as per a source close to the player, Liverpool are close to agreeing fee with the Rossoneri and could even meet the release clause of star. The release clause is reportedly 40-50million euros (Calcio Mercato)
The source claim that Milan spent a lot in the summer but they are 11th in the table and would suffer huge losses by not qualifying for the Champions League. Therefore, they are willing to sell Suso to Liverpool. The source further stated that Suso has unfinished business at Anfield but he is somewhat reluctant on moving to Liverpool because he wants to go to the World Cup.
He made his debut for the senior national side back in November last year and has a better chance of earning place in the WC team if he stays with Milan, where he is a superstar. At Anfield, the competition for starting places is very high.
In the current campaign, so far, Suso has scored 7 goals and provided 9 assists in 27 appearances (all competitions) for the 7 time European Champions.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds and will keep you updated.
