Pogba has generated doubts over his United future since the summer and it is suggested that he could pursue a return to Turin at the turn of the year.
According to Calciomercato, the Red Devils are open to the option of selling Pogba to the Serie A holders in the near future and Mourinho could be willing to sign Dybala in a potential swap agreement.
Pogba has been largely inconsistent with his showing for United since rejoining them from Juventus in the summer of 2016 and of late, he has created doubts over his future by refusing to rule out a future move away from Old Trafford.
As such, it appears that United could sanction the player’s return to the Bianconeri, though they are said to want Dybala in exchange amid his difficult situation with the Italian champions.
Dybala enjoyed a fruitful 2017/18 season whereby he contributed a career-high tally of 26 goals across all competitions but he has yet to get off the mark this term amid his reduced gametime.
The former Palermo man has been restricted to just two appearances since the start of the season and this has largely come about with summer signing Cristiano Ronaldo commanding a regular role ahead of him.
Aside from United, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all said to be monitoring the Argentine forward but Calciomercato suggests that the Bianconeri could be tempted by the Red Devils’ offer which would witness them re-sign former favourite Pogba.
Regardless of the speculation, Pogba remains a United player at present and he is currently preparing to return for club duty after featuring for France in the Nations League games against Germany and the Netherlands respectively.

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has reportedly compiled a four-man transfer shortlist amid the recent speculation associating him with the Manchester United job.
The legendary Frenchman is presently on a sabbatical after spending two-and-a-half seasons with Los Blancos where he went on to win three Champions League titles and a La Liga crown.
Over the past few weeks, Jose Mourinho’s future at Old Trafford has been called into question amid the club’s average start to the season and The Mirror reports that Zidane is supposedly keeping an eye on the proceedings.
Zidane is understood to have a lasting desire to succeed Mourinho at the Theatre of Dreams and The Mirror reports that the three-time Champions League-winning manager has already drawn up a shortlist of targets.
In his wishlist, the Frenchman is said to have Real Madrid duo Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez – currently on loan with Bayern Munich whilst Rodriguez’s clubmate Thiago Alcantara and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani are also included.
Nonetheless, Zidane may have a tough time convincing the United hierarchy to spend hefty sums on the quartet, given the club have recently urged Mourinho to concentrate on developing talents from the youth system.
Since their time under Louis van Gaal, United have certainly opened their cheque books to compete with Europe’s elite but of late, they seem to have taken a back step whereby the club are only seeking players, who could provide a re-sale value in the future.
Based on this, the likes of Cavani and Kroos, in particular, may not appeal the board in the forthcoming transfer windows, although nothing of this may happen, should Mourinho remain at the helm of things.
The Portuguese currently has the entire support from above despite the average beginning to the campaign and the coming months may decide whether he can preserve his position. United are presently 10th on the table after registering just six points from their opening four league games.

The Spain international has been with the Blues since the summer of 2014 and during this period, he has racked over 180 appearances across all competitions.
Despite this, his long-term future with the Blues remains uncertain with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign and Corriere dello Sport claims that the Rossoneri may seek to take advantage of the situation.
It is added that the San Siro giants have been trying to pursue the midfielder since his Premier League days with Arsenal and they could be prepared to make a fresh attempt when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
Fabregas has not made a league appearance for the Blues since the start of the campaign and this has largely resulted from him suffering a mysterious knee problem which has kept him out since his cameo in the Community Shield.
In his absence, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante have firmly established themselves in two of the three midfield positions up for grabs and it appears that Mateo Kovacic has sealed the third after making starts in each of the previous two league games.
As such, the Spaniard’s position does not appear fruitful with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley present to provide additional competition but he could yet surprise the doubters by winning over a starting role just like he did under ex-boss Antonio Conte last term.
Nevertheless, Fabregas has yet to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2019 and it will be interesting to see whether he would favour a one-year extension which would go in hand with the Blues’ strict policy for players above the age of 30.
Fabregas, who has won two Premier League titles with the Blues, would be free to discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club at the turn of the year. Should the Blues decide against an extension, they may also consider his sale for a cut-price fee.
AC Milan have already loaned Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea this summer with the option to buy and Corriere dello Sport suggests that they could use their good association with the Blues to lure Fabregas from Stamford Bridge.

The France international has been a regular for the Red Devils over the past couple of seasons and there remains question marks regarding his long-term future amid his strained relationship with Jose Mourinho.
According to ESPN FC, United had initially planned to discuss a contract extension with the midfielder but their plans have now been shelved with the midfielder continuing to present an uncertainty over his Old Trafford future.
Pogba had been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer but the move could not materialise after executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward refused to entertain offers for the World Cup winner.
Since then, Pogba is deemed to have called a truce with Mourinho to stay put for the season but ESPN reports that the Frenchman could push for an exit next summer, should Barcelona revive their interest.
Pogba returned to the United fray last month after an impressive showing for Les Bleus at the summer World Cup but he has since struggled to replicate a similar performance for Mourinho’s side.
Barring the two penalty goals he has scored, Pogba has looked far from impressive with his open play and this has supposedly angered a section of the United faithful amid his reluctance to rule out a future move away from the club.
Pogba is presently with Les Bleus for the inaugural UEFA Nations League and he played the entire 90 minutes of the goalless stalemate against Joachim Loew’s Germany on Thursday night.
He is very much certain to retain his starting role for the next group stage game versus the Netherlands at the Stade de France on Sunday evening. France have won each of their previous four matches against the Dutch.

Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial has supposedly stalled on discussions over a new contract with the club amid his struggles to secure a regular role under manager Jose Mourinho.
A recent report from The Times suggested that the Frenchman is prepared to sign a new five-year contract with the club with the hope that he can outlast Mourinho at the Old Trafford outfit.
However, there has since been no update with regards to the proposed extension and The Sun suggests that the 22-year-old has binned contract talks until he can get a clarity over his position under Mourinho.
Martial’s relationship with Mourinho deteriorated during the backend of the previous campaign after he found himself dropped to the bench upon the winter arrival of Alexis Sanchez.
Thereafter, the Frenchman struggled to make an impression during the remainder of the campaign and the situation has remained the same this term where he has made a solitary start against Brighton & Hove Albion.
As such, The Sun claims that Martial has been reluctant to extend his United contract since May and the standoff could prolong for the ongoing campaign, though the club want his future resolved by next summer.
At present, Martial may have to stick with a bench role for the forthcoming Premier League game but he could however earn a start in the League Cup fixture against Derby County, given the manager may seek to rotate the squad.
On regular periods, Marcus Rashford would unquestionably be the preferred pick to lead the line for such an encounter but Martial should have the advantage this time around with the former serving a three-man suspension after his sending-off versus Burnley.
Martial presently has just 10 months remaining on his current £65,000-a-week contract with United but the club have the option of an extension clause which would prolong his stay by an additional season.

The Spain international was linked with both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid during the recent transfer window but he has now highlighted the ambition to stay put with the Blues.
In an interview with AS, Alonso indicated that he has three years remaining on his current deal with the west London giants and he aims to honour the length of the deal at the least. Alonso had found very little success during his Premier League stints with Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers in the past but things have paved for him differently since his Stamford Bridge move in the summer of 2016.
Initially, the Blues supporters were not very excited by the prospect of entertaining a Premier League drop but he has certainly lived to their expectations over the past three years where he has gone on to become the most effective Premier League defender, contributing 15 goals and a further eight assists across all competitions.
As such, the £50,000-a-week (The Daily Star)left-back has indicated that his international recognition with La Roja has come about due to his current Premier League stint and he is presently ‘very happy’ with his role with the 2016/17 English champions.
Aside from Alonso, both Eden Hazard and Willian were linked with probable moves away from Stamford Bridge during the summer but ultimately, the Blues managed to keep hold of the services of both.
Willian had captured the attention of Barcelona during the early stages of the transfer window but the arrival of a new manager (Maurizio Sarri) at the helm convinced him to continue his trade with the Capital outfit.
On the other hand, Hazard personally admitted that it could be time to move on after six seasons with the Blues but he thereafter said that he would remain committed for the ongoing campaign.
Hazard in particular has been disappointed with the club’s failure to qualify for this season’s Champions League and he could part ways with the Blues next summer, should they fail to either finish in the top four or win the Europa League altogether this term.

The Spain international has been with the Red Devils since the summer of 2014 but over the past year, his gametime has reduced with the vast competition for places.
According to Metro, the 29-year-old is keen to commit his future to the Mancunian giants with his existing contract due to expire at the end of the current campaign. However, United are yet to make any progress in terms of extending his stay and this may witness him to pursue a new challenge when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
Herrera was more of a bit-part player during his first two seasons under Louis van Gaal but his skills came to the fray under Jose Mourinho after starring during the club’s Europa League and League Cup double during the 2016/17 campaign.
Owing to his, Herrera also got recognition with the Spain national team for the first time in his career but thereafter things have turned pear-shaped with the added competition at the club.
Over the past two summer transfer windows, the likes of Nemanja Matic and Fred have been recruited to bolster the heart of the midfield and this has witnessed Herrera drop down the pecking order.
Moreover, Mourinho has also preferred to favour Marouane Fellaini ahead of him after his recent contract extension and the Belgian seems to have become the first-choice substitute, if one of Paul Pogba, Fred or Matic are required to be replaced.
Herrera, who is currently on a £75,000 weekly package (The Express), was restricted to just 13 league starts during the previous campaign. The current season has not seen an improvement with just one start from the opening four games, and that surprisingly came in the central defensive position in the shocking 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

The France international has not enjoyed the best of starts in the United shirt this campaign and he appears to have made his mind up for a fresh challenge elsewhere.
According to The Express, the Frenchman has handed a notice to the club’s hierarchy and he is prepared to push through a transfer at the turn of the year. It is added that the World Cup winner is keen to work alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, where he won four straight Serie A titles between 2012 and 2016.
Pogba joined the Mancunian giants from Juventus on a club-record £89m fee in August 2016 and much was thereafter expected from the midfielder after his genuine success with the Bianconeri.
However, since then, his showing has been largely inconsistent with only glimpses of his potential showcased in Turin and The Express now claims that his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has broken down.
Towards the backend of the 2017/18 season, Mourinho stressed that his relationship remains fruitful with Pogba and the rift was only a ‘lie’ but there seems something going between them after the midfielder admitting some differences with the manager during the summer.
Pogba has begun the ongoing Premier League campaign with two goals from the penalty spot from the opening four matches but he could have quite easily added to the tally, had he scored from the spotkick versus Burnley last weekend.
For now, the midfielder has refused to speak upon his position after admitting the fear of being fined, but it will be interesting to see how his situation paves when the January transfer window comes closer.

The Portuguese superstar had a glorious spell with Real Madrid where he went on to win four Champions League crowns in nine seasons but he nevertheless decided to pursue a fresh move with Juventus.
Speaking after United’s 2-0 triumph over Burnley, Mourinho clarified that a deal was ‘never on the table‘ to lure Ronaldo back to Old Trafford despite the transfer speculation over the summer.
In the same interview, he added that the Bianconeri are at an advantage with the arrival of Ronaldo and the Portuguese could enhance their prospects of competing for this season’s Champions League crown.
Meanwhile, United returned to winning ways on Sunday after they secured a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Burnley and they could have easily scored more with the chances up for grabs.
Romelu Lukaku could have had the opportunity to score his maiden United hat-trick from the penalty spot but his chance was taken up by specialist Paul Pogba, who failed to convert his attempt past goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Nonetheless, United go into the international break with some positivity around the club and Mourinho will be hoping that the team can build up on a winning streak when they return in mid-September.
United’s September schedule remains relatively friendly but they need to be wary of the threat from Watford, who have made a strong start to the Premier League campaign under Javi Gracia.
The Hornets have the tendency to beginning with a bang in the every top-flight season and they have once more than that with the team currently one among three clubs including Liverpool and Chelsea to have made the perfect start to the campaign.

Manchester City and Manchester United are reportedly monitoring the development of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves with a view to a future approach for his signature.
The Portuguese footballer made the shock move to Wolves last summer after they paid a Championship-record fee for his services and he was thereafter influential towards their promotion to the top-flight.
Neves was thereon linked with a potential big-money move elsewhere but the midfielder decided to stay put with the west Midlands outfit after he was rewarded with a fresh five-year contract on weekly wages of around (Birmingham Mail) £50,000-a-week.
According to Goal.com, Pep Guardiola’s side are said to have made an approach for Neves during the dying stages of the Premier League transfer window but their efforts vent in vain with Wolves reluctant to lose the play on the eve of their season opener.
As such, the Premier League holders are supposedly planning a fresh approach for either January or next summer but Guardiola fears that Manchester United could hijack the move after knowing of their transfer interest,
Neves’ agent Jorge Mendes has also represented United boss Jose Mourinho for the long-term and Goal suggests that the Portuguese tactician would fancy his fellow countrymen making the switch to Old Trafford.
City are seemingly desperate for a new central midfielder after failing in their pursuit of Jorginho during the summer and Guardiola considers Neves as the perfect fit to adjust to his brand of football at the Etihad Stadium.
Nevertheless, the Mancunian giants can take things for granted with United anymore, given they were beaten to the signings of Alexis Sanchez and Fred in each of the previous two summer transfer windows.
The reigning English champions were also taught a lesson for delaying their agreement to sign Jorginho from Napoli this summer after Chelsea pounced on his signature with the better deal on the table.
