On Tuesday night two of last year’s semi-finalists will meet at the Olimpico Stadium in Rome. Madrid’s new coach (and ex player) Santiago Solari will have a second taste of the best club competition in the world after beating Victoria Pilzen in his first showing. Roma are 5 games unbeaten and will look to extend that number.

A.S. Roma vs Real Madrid C.F. News

Both teams lost their weekend matches and this ties is great opportunity to get back on track.
Despite the disappointing weekend both teams usually perform well in attacking plan and we can expect a great derby with no key players missing for any of the teams.

A.S. Roma vs Real Madrid C.F. Head to Head

In the last couple of years both teams have met 4 times and the stats are on the spaniards’ side. Real have won all of these games scoring 9 goals and conceding just 1 in the process. The last game was back on 19th September and the Blancos won easily 3-0 at their home. The game is expected to be a tight affair as both teams are almost certain for their places in the last 16 of the competition.

A.S. Roma vs Real Madrid C.F. Stats

Edin Dzeko will be expected to deliver the goals for Roma as he is topping the scoring charts in the competition with 5 strikes (2 assists) to his name. Stephan El Shaarawy is also having a good beginning of the season as he is his team’s top-scorer in their domestic league. Roma’s last loss came more than a month ago, but it was against lowly SPAL side who are genuine outsiders in Italy’s top flight.
Real will enter the game knowing that a draw will pretty much secure them top stop in the group. After the humiliating defeat to arch rivals Barcelona and the following change of coach, Real have won the next 4 games, scoring 15 goals in the meantime and conceding just 2.Despete all that they are still not on the level of the last years when they won the competition 4 times since 2013. Real’s last game was with Levante and they won 2-0 but again didnt impress with their football.

A.S. Roma vs Real Madrid C.F. Predictions

I’ll predict that both teams will score and the game will be over 2.5 goals.
Another interesting option is over 10 corners.

The two teams will meet on the pitch for a Champions League game hosted by the Red Devils. Manchester are seeking another victory after they defeated Young Boys with 3-0 in the first leg.
Valencia lost against Juventus in a game with 3 penalties. The Bats were one player ahead of Juventus after Cristiano Ronaldo’s red card but it was still obvious they are not ready to compete with top European clubs yet.

Manchester United vs. Valencia CF Head to Head

15.09.82 UEL Manchester United 0-0 Valencia
29.09.10 UCL Valencia 0-1 Manchester United
07.12.10 UCL Manchester United 1-1 Valencia
Both teams have met six times in Champions League games, all of which were at the group stages. The latest duel happened eight years ago. Manchester United won the first leg with 1-0 at Valencia’s home stadium and the second one ended in a draw (1:1).
Anderson and Chicharito were the scorers in these matches and only Chris Smalling is still in the current squad of Man United. As many as 5 out of 8 international clashes between the two teams have finished in draws – 3 of these were goalless and in the other 2 the result was 1-1. The Red Devils have 2 wins at Old Trafford and a single one away from home.
The only Valencia victory happened in 1982 in a UEFA Cup round. Jose Mourinho has a lot of problems to resolve as his team’s performance is too tentative. The Red Devils’ manager didn’t get the centre-backs he wanted during the transfer period and now some of his defenders are suffering from injuries.

Manchester United vs. Valencia CF Betting Tips

Phil Jones is available but Marcos Rojo picked up an injury and the results of his last fitness test will be decisive as to whether he will be allowed to start. Lukaku will have no chance in front if he does not get enough help from the attacking midfielders.
That’s the reason why Manchester United’s players don’t create many goal chances in their matches. In fact, there has been no clear style of playing since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. United are apparently still seeking themselves.
Valencia has not been performing very well in La Liga since the beginning of the season and have recorded 5 draws. Santi Mina is ruled out due to injury but Valencia has enough good players in attack to replace him. Most probably Rodrigo and Batshuayi will be featured in the starting eleven as Gameiro will come off the bench in the second half.
The visitors will try to stop United’s attacks in their half, waiting for the right moment to counter attack. The same tactics were introduced by Sevilla during the previous season when they removed United from the Champions League.

Manchester United vs. Valencia CF Prediction

Manchester United have been under-performing since the beginning of the month. Also, the scandals between Pogba and Mourinho are a factor to consider. Having all this in mind, it is very likely Red Devils will not have the will to win the match.
Manchester United – Valencia X (4.00 at bet365)

Tottenham is facing Barcelona in one of the most interesting clashes in the Champions League on October 3 at Wembley. There is a big contrast between the moods in the ranks of the two teams after their matches in the first round of the Champions League. Tottenham dramatically lost with an unexpected, last-minute goal. The Spurs were beaten by Inter (2:1) on the San Siro stadium and now, they need a win in the upcoming game.
Barcelona had no problems achieving an impressive 4-0 victory against PSV Eindhoven. The bad news for Barca’s coach is Samuel Umtiti’s red card. The French national will not play against the Spurs and he is going to be replaced by either Clément Lenglet or Thomas Vermaelen.
Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino is facing some unpleasant issues, too. Both of his first-choice goalkeepers, Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm, are injured and it is not clear if they will recover on time. The third goalie Paulo Gazzaniga will be the last resort for Pochettino. Vincent Janssen is missing from the manager’s list due to a foot injury but he is not such a key player in the Tottenham’s squad.

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. vs. FC Barcelona Head to Head

Barcelona’s performance since the beginning of the season has not been particularly exceptional, despite the relatively good results. The team lost against Leganes (2:1) in the midweek fixture. Of course, it is too early to speak of a crisis, but the deficiencies in their play are obvious. The Blaugrana is playing much more pragmatically with Ernesto Valverde in charge.
There is no more Johan Cruyff’s idealistic “tiki-taka”, continued by Pep Guardiola’s dream team. Valverde relies on a 4-3-3 scheme, which transforms into a 4-2-3-1 with Luis Suárez as a centre-forward, Messi behind him as a playmaker, while Dembélé and Coutinho are positioned on the wings.

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. vs. FC Barcelona Betting Tips

Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino will rely on the creativity of his key players – Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen.
According to some analysts, Eriksen was supposed to be transferred in Barcelona this summer, but that never happened.
Dele Alli is another Spurs’ player who can make a difference if Barcelona’s defenders let him make his move.
The two teams have never played against each other in the Champions League. The only duel between them on the European scene was in 1982. They faced each other in the UEFA European Cup Winners Cup semifinals.
The first match ended in a draw (1:1) at White Hart Lane, but Barcelona grabbed the victory in the second one (1:0). The Catalans then defeated Standard Liege in the final and won the cup.

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. vs. FC Barcelona Prediction

According to us, the outcome of this match will be determined by the individual skills of the teams’ top players.

Liverpool progressed to their first Champions League final since 2007 despite succumbing to a 4-2 defeat to AS Roma on Wednesday night. The Merseyside outfit had already secured a 5-2 advantage from the first leg of their semi-final and this eventually pulled them through by a 7-6 aggregate scoreline.

Three things we learned:
Liverpool get a shot at another final: Since the Champions League triumph in 2005, Liverpool have struggled to make much of an impression in finals, barring the 2012 League Cup where they beat Cardiff City on penalties. By ousting Roma, Liverpool have now reached their third final under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp and the German will be hoping for a better performance. Real Madrid are unquestionably the outright favourites for the final in Kyiv and Klopp needs to sort out the club’s backline, which conceded six times against the Giallorossi.
AS Roma unlucky with refereeing decisions: The Giallorossi needed a huge performance to overturn the tie and they could have at least taken the game to extra-time, had a couple of refereeing decisions gone their way. Roma striker Edin Dzeko was blatantly fouled in the box by goalkeeper Loris Karius in the second half but the Reds survived after the assistant referee wrongly judging him to be offside. Shortly after, Stephan El Shaarawy’s effort on goal was deflected over by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s hand but surprisingly no Roma player asked for a penalty.
Liverpool need to find a quick defensive fix: Despite their progress to the Champions League final, Liverpool’s defensive display was far from impressive with six goals conceded. The Merseyside outfit looked particularly weak on the right side of the defence where Alexander-Arnold was stationed and the teenager needs to find a better positional sense ahead of the Kyiv final. Alexander-Arnold has been found out against fast-paced attackers in the form of Wilfried Saha and Marcus Rashford this term and he could have a difficult night against the likes of Ronaldo, Asensio or Bale, unless he manages to balance the offensive and defensive side of his game.

Liverpool entertain AS Roma in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night. The Reds remain the sole club to have not lost in the European competition and they have the opportunity of gaining a sizeable advantage at Anfield against this season’s surprise packages.

What happened over the weekend?
Liverpool looked on course for a comfortable 2-0 win over bottom-placed West Bromwich Albion after Dannys and Mohamed Salah found the scoresheet. However, the Baggies managed to have a late surge with Jack Livermore and Salomon Rondon pulling things level before the final whistle. With the result, Liverpool are eight points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea but their top-four spot is not entirely guaranteed with the Blues having a game in hand and a home fixture against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
On the contrary, Roma picked up a second victory on the bounce as they beat SPAL 3-0 on the road. Francesco Vicari gifted the lead to the Giallorossi via an own goal and following the break, Radja Nainggolan and Patrik Schick added to the scoresheet before the hour mark. The victory sees Roma with one-point advantage over fifth-placed Inter Milan but both sides have tricky encounters against Juventus to contend with before the end of the campaign.
Players to watch for:
Mohamed Salah – Liverpool: The Egypt international contributed his 40th goal in the club’s colours during the weekend draw against West Brom. Shortly after, the attacker was awarded with the PFA Player of the Year accolade and he will be buoyed by the prospect of facing his former employers. Roma may have good knowledge about Salah’s style of play but their backline can nevertheless expect a tricky encounter. Only Manchester United this season have managed to curb Salah’s threat with Ashley Young doing a brilliant man-marking job on the Egyptian.
Edin Dzeko – AS Roma: Back in the January transfer window, Dzeko was in potential discussions over a return to the Premier League but he will be glad with how his season has progressed ever since. Dzeko has scored only half the number of goals as Salah this campaign but his most influential impact undoubtedly came in the quarter-final tie against Barcelona where he scored a crucial away goal in a 4-4 aggregate scoreline. The Bosnian is a menace to the opposition defence with his aerial ability and the likes of Virgil van Dijk need to guard against offering him room in the box.
Prediction:
Liverpool 2-1 AS Roma

Real Madrid progressed to the last four of the Champions League for the eighth consecutive season as they saw through their quarter-final challenge versus Juventus.
The Bianconeri made a stunning recovery from their 3-0 deficit in Turin, but unfortunately they could not oust their European champions, who celebrated a 4-3 aggregate win via a last-gasp Cristiano Ronaldo penalty.
Three things we learned:
Cristiano Ronaldo extends scoring streak: The Portugal international did not have the best of games as he struggled with his finishing. Despite this, the 33-year-old got his opportunity to make the difference right at the end, after calmly slotting in the match-winning penalty in the 97th minute. Ronaldo has now scored in 11 straight Champions League matches, a run which stretches to last season’s final in Cardiff against the Bianconeri.
Gianluigi Buffon’s final Champions League hurrah: Buffon saw his night end in a sour note after being sent off for shoving referee Michael Oliver. At 40, Buffon has already hinted that he could step down from the game, and the Bernabeu match may turn out to be his final outing in Europe. The veteran still has plenty to play for this season, however, with Juventus vying for a domestic double.
Real Madrid on course for another European crown: Los Blancos made history during the previous campaign as they became the first club to win consecutive Champions League titles in the modern era. Zinedine Zidane’s side have struggled with their league form this term, but this has not hampered their European ambition by any means. Sergio Ramos’ suspension affected them during the second leg versus Juventus, and his comeback would surely put Los Blancos in a strong position to claim a third-straight European crown.

Manchester City entertain Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night. The Citizens suffered a rather disappointing 3-0 defeat on the road at Anfield last week, and they now need to produce a huge performance at the Etihad Stadium in order to overturn the deficit.
What happened over the weekend?
City suffered defeats in back-to-back games for the first time this term as they succumbed to a 3-2 derby defeat at the hands of cross-town rivals Manchester United. Pep Guardiola’s side were at one stage holding a comfortable 2-0 lead, but they appeared to switch off in the second-half where United pounced with three goals in the space of 16 minutes. Not only did the defeat hamper the momentum, but the faithful had to witness the title celebrations being prolonged for another week at the least.
Liverpool, on the other side, played out a 0-0 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby on Saturday. Like Manchester City, the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp decided to make five changes to the starting lineup, and this reduced their usual attacking threat. As a result, the Toffees looked the most likely to find the scoresheet, and they will have cursed themselves after Cenk Tosun, Idrissa Gueye and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all came within the cusp of ending the club’s eight-year wait for a win in the derby.
Players to watch for:
Sergio Aguero – Manchester City: The Argentine made his return from a knee injury as a 76th-minute substitute in the Manchester derby. Aguero had not witnessed first-team action for more than a month, and he nearly scored the equaliser for City, barring David de Gea’s heroics. Aguero is still waiting for his 200th goal in the club’s shirt, and his involvement could be key on Tuesday, considering City wasted plenty of chances versus United. Raheem Stertling, in particular, was guilty of missing two clear-cut opportunities during the first-half, which should have killed the game.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Liverpool: The ‘Ox’ did not have much of an influence on the Merseyside derby, but prior to that, he produced another top-notch performance versus Guardiola’s men. Oxlade-Chamberlain has grown from strength-to-strength since his arrival at Anfield last summer, and his desire to make tireless runs from the midfield is something City need to take care of. The Englishman has the ability to test the opposition goalkeeper from long range, and he popped up with a stellar 25-yard strike during the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Prediction:
Following City’s defeat at Anfield, they face an uphill task of making the Champions League semi-final. The hosts should win the game but they may not necessarily clinch the tie with Liverpool more than capable of scoring on their travels.
Manchester City 3-1 Liverpool

The Gunners secured their fourth victory on the bounce as they beat Stoke City by a 3-0 scoreline, and they will be aiming to use the momentum to outclass their Russian counterparts at the Emirates Stadium.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Lineup:
David Ospina has been the Gunners’ first-choice goalkeeper for the Europa League, having featured in eight of the club’s 10 matches this term. The Colombia international is a strong contender to start between the sticks with Petr Cech nursing a Pelvic injury.
Likewise, Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal are expected to retain their right and left-back positions from the weekend win over Stoke, though we predict one change in the central defensive department. Laurent Koscielny was an unused substitute during the Potters game, but the Frenchman should get the nod over Rob Holding to partner Shkodran Mustafi.
Onto the midfield, Granit Xhaka should return to the starting lineup in place of Mohamed Elneny, who had a solid game on Sunday. The Swiss international brings the Gunners attackers into play with his precise passing, and he is likely to be accompanied by Aaron Ramsey, who is a potent threat to the opposition with his tireless runs into the box.
Further forward, Jack Wilshere has been the preferred choice to slot in the central attacking midfield role, and Arsene Wenger may not change things for midweek. Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan should flank the Englishman with the latter, having come up with a positive influence off the bench last weekend.
Alexandre Lacazette looked sharp during his 30-minute appearance versus the Potters, and we are anticipating him to start his first European game of the campaign. The Frenchman returned to scoring ways with a penalty goal on his injury comeback.

Liverpool entertain Manchester City in the first-leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night. The Reds are the only club to have inflicted a defeat on City in this season’s competition, and they will be aiming for a repeat performance prior to next week’s away leg at the Etihad Stadium.
League Form:
Liverpool succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United earlier last month, but they have since returned to winning ways with back-to-back victories over Watford and Crystal Palace. Mohamed Salah has been the standout performer during this period with five goals including a stupendous quadruple against the Hornets.
On the contrary, the Citizens’s previous defeat came in the form of a shock 1-0 loss to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fifth round. Since then, they have won seven straight matches including the 3-0 win over Arsenal in the League Cup final. The Mancunian outfit have the opportunity of sealing the Premier League title this weekend with a victory over arch-rivals Manchester United.
Players to watch for:
Mohamed Salah – Liverpool: The Egypt international has probably been ‘the signing of the season’ after contributing 36 goals for the Reds in all competitions. Barring the United defeat earlier this month, Salah has been a constant menace in the opposition box, he most-recently scored the winner with a coolly-timed finish against Crystal Palace. The 25-year-old gave a tough time to Fabian Delph during the Anfield defeat in January, and whoever plays at left-back may have to find a way of restricting the attacker’s movement, something which United’s Ashley Young did with perfection.
Kevin de Bruyne – Manchester City: Despite Salah’s sublime showing at Liverpool, Kevin de Bruyne is a strong candidate to win the PFA Player of the Year award owing to his excellent all-round play. In addition to his usual interceptions in midfield, the Belgian has the unique gift of making pin-point passes/crosses for his forwards whilst on the move. Under Pep Guardiola, the 26-year-old has also improved his prowess in front of goal, and he has not been shy from shooting from long-range. This may be a test for Liverpool, in particular, with Loris Karius not the most-confident of goalkeepers in catching the ball.
Prediction:
Liverpool normally tend to show up against the elite clubs at Anfield, but they may play with a slightly cautious approach as they cannot afford to concede multiple away goals. Hence, we are fancying a hard-fought score-draw with City getting something from the game, Liverpool 1-1 Manchester City

The Catalan giants backed their 1-1 stalemate at Stamford Bridge with a 3-0 triumph at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night, and this ensured their place in the last eight of the elite competition.
Three Things We Learned:
Lionel Messi proves his mettle: Prior to the double-legged tie, there had been lot of talk about Lionel Messi’s eight-match goalless streak against Chelsea. The Argentine put this unwanted record to bed during the first-leg, where he equalised from a defensive lapse from the Blues. He continued in the same vein of form at the Camp Nou, where he was the star of the show with a goal in either half, in addition to his assist for Ousmane Dembele’s strike (whoscored).
Chelsea lacked the cutting edge: Chelsea’s brand of attacking football on Wednesday night had some similarities with Sevilla, who were wasteful in front of goal, barring Ben Yedder, whose brace ensured a shock triumph over Manchester United in the competition. Unfortunately, the Blues did not have a saviour in the form of Ben Yedder in their ranks, and Olivier Giroud had a Champions League night to forget as he failed to find the scoresheet. Giroud did manage one layoff for Marcos Alonso, but the attempt was blocked by some last-ditch defending from Gerard Pique.
A defeat with plenty of positives: Despite going down to Barcelona, the Blues’ faithful at the Camp Nou were pleased with the overall efforts of the team. Antonio Conte’s side were slammed for opting for an ultra-defensive approach against Manchester City earlier in the month, but they have no reason to regret their performance in Catalonia where they managed to keep Barcelona in their own half for the vast part of the second period. In-form winger Willian was the driving force once more, but could not find the final delivery to pick-up either Hazard or Giroud.
