Both teams were active during the summer and brought plenty of new signings to strengthen up their squads. Fulham broke the bank with a total sum of £98.10m spent on 14 players. André Schürrle and Aleksandar Mitrović quickly managed to adapt to the hosts’ style after scoring a total of 6 goals for the club since the beginning of the season.

Watford impressed everyone after managing to win their opening 4 fixtures, which included a tough match against Tottenham at home. Their perfect performance ended last weekend when ‘The Hornets’ lost against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. Watford created only one clear goalscoring opportunity against the Red Devils and if they don’t improve against Fulham, we can expect another disappointing result for the visitors.

Fulham vs. Watford Odds

According to the bookmakers, both teams have almost equal chances of winning. Still, Fulham have the home advantage and the winning odds for ‘The Cottagers’ are priced at 2.37. Draw is valued at 3.40 and win for the away side is 2.87.
Fulham Win – 2.37
Draw – 3.40
Watford – 2.87

Fulham vs. Watford Head to Head

The last meeting between Fulham and Watford in the Premier League was in 07/08. Both games ended in a draw.
Most recent games between the two sides were in the 14/15 Championship. Watford managed to win both fixtures (1:0 and 0:5).
The last triumph for Fulham against ‘The Hornets’ was in 2005 at home in a game for the FA Cup, when the hosts scored twice to beat the visitors 2:0.

Fulham vs. Watford News

Fulham’s rising star Tom Cairney probably will not feature for his side after picking up an ankle injury earlier in the season. Neeskens Kebano and Tim Ream will also miss the game for the hosts.
Tom Cleverley remains sidelined for Watford after picking up a calf injury in a game against Stoke City last season. Gerard Deulofeu is yet to debut for the Hornets after joining the club on a loan from Barcelona in the summer.

Fulham vs. Watford Predictions

Bookies are calling the game a toss-up but we believe Fulham has a higher chance to win. Although Watford currently stands in 4th place in the Premier League, they have never been a good away side and were rightfully defeated by Manchester United last weekend. ‘The Cottagers’ lost only twice at home in 2018, so Fulham Draw No Bet at 1.70 looks like an option you should consider.
Both teams have been shaky at defence since the start of the season. Fulham are yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League while Watford only managed a shutout in the opening round in a 2:0 win against Brighton at home. At a decent price, there is value in backing Both Teams to Score again.
Fulham Draw No Bet – 1.70
Both Teams to Score – 1.62

The game was tightly contested with very few scoring opportunities but Marcus Rashford netted the winner in the 34th minute after a vintage pass from Michael Carrick in the lead up.

Three things we learned:
Michael Carrick has a fitting Old Trafford farewell: The 36-year-old has already announced that he would be retiring at the end of the season and he marked his final Old Trafford appearance with a top-notch showing. Right from the start, Carrick showed glimpses of his ability in the centre of the park and his match-defining moment came via a vintage long-range pass for Juan Mata, who unselfishly laid the ball to Rashford for the winner. Carrick was fittingly adjudged the club’s man of the match and this could end up as his final appearance in the United shirt.
Manchester United’s struggles in the absence of Lukaku: The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford have all started upfront in Romelu Lukaku’s injury absence but none of them have managed to impress with their performances. Rashford did find the net in the curtain closer against Watford but aside from this, the Englishman’s showing was pretty disappointing owing to his poor decision-making from potential goalscoring positions. Thankfully for United, Lukaku is expected to return to training on Tuesday after recovering from his ankle problem and this has provided a timely boost ahead of their FA Cup final against Chelsea next weekend.
Watford’s potential decision on Javi Gracia: Watford have been prone to chopping and changing managers after every season and this campaign brought something of a surprise after Marco Silva was axed in January. His successor Javi Gracia has comfortably guided the Hornets to a position of relative safety but there remain question marks over the Spaniard’s future beyond the summer. Following the United game. the 48-year-old has revealed that he has been assured of his position but the next couple of days could give a fair reflection of the hierarchy’s stance.

Arsenal ended a three-match losing streak in the Premier League as they beat Watford by a 3-0 scoreline at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Shkodran Mustafi opened the scoring with a brilliant header off a Mesut Ozil set-piece in the 8th minute, and the Gunners should have extended the lead further during the first-half with clear-cut chances for both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ozil.
In the second period, Watford started off with the better tenacity, but a delightful through-ball from Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 59th minute allowed Aubameyang to double the scores.
From then, Petr Cech managed to make his maiden penalty save for Arsenal to deny Troy Deeney from 12 yards, and thereafter, there was a role reversal with Aubameyang assisting Mkhitaryan’s goal, 13 minutes from time.
Player Ratings:
Petr Cech: The 35-year-old managed to clinch his 200th Premier League clean sheet after a 11-match wait, but he had to work for it. Cech made a key penalty save off Deeney when the Gunners were leading 2-0 – 8/10
Shkodran Mustafi: One of the German’s best performances of the season. Mustafi managed to restrain Deeney’s movement with a number of key interventions during the game. Was substituted during the backend of the match with a minor groin strain – 7.5/10
Rob Holding: The Englishman was brought on to partner Mustafi, with Koscielny offered a much-needed rest. Looked far more secure than the Ostersund defeat, and took command at the back after Mustafi was substituted – 7/10
Ainsley Maitland-Niles: The Gunners graduate played at right-back for the first time this term, and he managed to frustrate Richarlison throughout the game. Conceded a penalty with a needless challenge, but should learn with more playing time – 7/10
Sead Kolasinac: A much-disciplined showing from Bosnian, who was initially deemed doubtful for the encounter. Made a number of runs towards the opposition box, but could not find the final ball – 6.5/10
Granit Xhaka: Has been better with his positioning in recent games, and he managed to make a crucial headed intervention near his own box during the second-half. Fans will expect more of the same from him versus Milan – 7/10
Mohamed Elneny: Normally a holding midfielder by trade, the Egypt international found himself further up the field on a number of occasions. Kept it tidy with his passing whilst eliminating the threat from Abdoulaye Doucoure – 7.5/10
Alex Iwobi: Impressed with his hold-up play during the game, but was disappointing with his crossing once more. Could have played through Aubameyang on two separate occasions, but failed to find the final delivery – 6.5/10
Mesut Ozil: Another masterclass from the German who became the quickest to 50 clean sheets in the Premier League. The World Cup winner provided a delightful set-piece delivery for Mustafi’s opener, and was influential in linking up with Mkhitaryan – 8/10
Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Was guilty of losing possession on a few occasions in his own half, but impressed as the game went on. The Armenian bagged a goal and assist for himself, and showed his understanding with close-mate Aubameyang – 8.5/10
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Missed a glorious opportunity during the first 10 minutes of the game, but continued to make his runs behind the defence. Eventually scored off a Mkhitaryan through-ball, and assisted his ex-Dortmund teammate for the third – 8/10
Substitutes:
Calum Chambers, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck
Who will come out on top?
The Gunners have won their last four games in all competitions. On the other hand, the Hornets are in decent form as well. At the moment, Watford are just a single point behind the North Londoners in the PL table.
As far as Arsenal’s team news is concerned, Mustafi suffered a thigh injury on international duty and he will be out. Fortunately, Koscielny is now fit and he will probably get straight into the starting XI.
The French international should partner Holding and Monreal in the back line. Bellerin and Kolasinac must start in the wing-back positions. As far as the midfield is concerned, Xhaka and Ramsey may start.
Mesut Ozil has missed the last few games and he is fit now,l but we can expect Wenger to start him on the bench on Saturday.
The likes of Iwobi and Alexis should start in the attack behind lone center forward Alexandre Lacazette. Here is Arsenal’s strongest possible 3-4-2-1 XI vs Watford.
Next up, the North Londoners will collide against Watford when the Premier League returns after the international break.
The Hornets have started the new season well, they have won 3 out of their 7 PL fixtures and are currently a point behind the Gunners. In the last game, they drew 2-2 vs West Brom.
As far as Arsenal’s team news is concerned, at the moment, no fewer than six players are out injured.
However, the good news for Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal supporters is that five of them are expected to return when Arsenal face Watford on 14th October (PhysioRoom). Four key stars like Ozil, Koscielny, Welbeck and Coquelin could be fit for the contest.
The Gunners are 6 points behind the league leaders and must continue their winning run if they are to seriously challenge for the title. In your opinion, should Ozil get back into the starting XI if he is fully fit?
The Blues needed a late goal from bench warmer Michy Batshuayi to win the ultimate prize.
The Stamford Bridge club have the chance to become the first team in the history of PL to win 30 league games in a season and they face Watford next tonight.
Conte’s next big game is against Arsenal in the FA Cup on 27th May so we can expect the Italian boss to rest more than a few key players vs the Hornets.
Begovic should replace first choice goalie Courtois in the starting XI. The likes of John Terry and Kurt Zouma may return to partner Luiz in the defense.
Batshuayi should get the nod to start as the lone center forward up front in place of Costa. Expect Willian and Loftus-Cheek to start in the attack behind the Belgian striker.
Here is Conte’s probable 3-4-3 Chelsea XI vs Watford.
We shall see.
The Hornets were absolutely humiliated at Anfield earlier in the season as Klopp’s men scored six past them. However, the Reds are without star playmaker Sadio Mane who scored two on that night.
As far as Liverpool’s team news is concerned, the German boss has not made a single change in the starting XI that featured against Crystal Palace in the last league game.
Coutinho and Firmino start in the attack behind Origi. Lucas starts in the DM role with Can and Wijnaldum starting in front of him in the midfield.
Clyne, Matip, Lovren and Milner start in the defense in front of Simon Mignolet. The good news for the Merseysiders is that Adam Lallana is fit and he starts the game on the bench.
The Reds have a great opportunity of strengthening their position by beating Watford in the Premier League tonight.
Liverpool suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace at Anfield in the last game and they must bounce back big time without more than a few key stars. The good news is that Adam Lallana may start for Jurgen Klopp.
The €43million (CIES) has scored 7 goals and provided 7 assists in the league this season and not so long ago, he signed a new deal with the Merseysiders. However, the England international has not played since his appearance against Manchester City back in March.
His return will be a huge boost for the Anfield club in their pursuit of Champions League football. The 28-year-old star may replace Lucas and start in the midfield for the Reds.
Next up, on Monday night, the Reds will collide against Watford away from home and must bounce back to earn all three points or else they can forget about finishing in the top four. Earlier in the season, Liverpool defeated the Hornets 6-1 at home.
As far as Liverpool’s team news is concerned, at the moment, they have eight players out injured and Daniel Sturridge is (once again) the latest name on the injury list (PhysioRoom). The Reds must get rid of the England international in the summer transfer window.
Adam Lallana has returned to training for the Merseysiders and as per the provided PhysioRoom, the former Southampton star and Ragnar Klavan are expected to be fit to face Watford on 1st May.
The Estonian defender has mainly been a bench warmer under Klopp but Lallana has been a key member of the squad and his return will be a huge boost for the German manager.
The 28-year-old midfielder has netted 7 goals and provided 7 assists in the league for the Reds this season.
Next up, the Red Devils will face Watford. The Hornets defeated Mourinho’s men earlier in the season and now the Portuguese boss will be looking to earn all three points at Old Trafford.
As far as the team news is concerned, Jose may make a few changes in the team that started the game vs the Foxes last weekend.
Expect French international Anthony Martial to return to the starting XI. The former Monaco attacker may replace young Marcus Rashford in the lineup.
Daley Blind may also return to start in the left back position. Smalling and Rojo should start in the central defense. England international Phil Jones is still out injured but he might be fit for the game vs Watford (PhysioRoom).
