Chelsea football club have been busy in the winter transfer window as Mourinho looks to reinforce the squad that will help them win the title after 2010.
Blues needed stability in the midfield department and hence they landed one of their very own Nemanja Matic.
Having sold the star player Juan Mata for a hefty fee of 37 million pounds to Manchester United, Mourinho needed a replacement, someone who could do the job of tracking back that Mata could not.
In came Mohamed Salah from Basel who scored twice against the Blues this season. Not only is he capable of playing at both flanks but also gets back to help in defense.
Mourinho is well aware of the defensive concerns and now Chelsea have sealed yet another deal for a highly rated defender Kurt Zouma.
Zouma is renowned as one of the brightest prospects in the game and as per Mirror, Blues have agreed a fee of 15 million Euros to sign the French international.
The 19 year old boy is considered to be a long term replacement for club captain John Terry.
Zouma will be a fantastic addition to Chelsea side and will largely improve their defense for the years to come.
However, one major surprise is that Chelsea have not reinforced the one position they badly needed to i.e. Striker.
Strikers have been very inconsistent and we have to wait and see whether Mourinho moves and signs one on deadline day or not.

Blues will battle Liverpool for the French international but the question is, why are Liverpool even interested in him?

Toure, Sakho and young Ilori were brought by Rodgers. Moreover, they already have the likes of seniors defenders i.e. Agger and Skrtel in the squad.
Therefore, going for another center back does not make any sense and Liverpool should strengthen other departments.

Jose Mourinho is looking to sign various quality stars to reinforce Chelsea squad for next season. Other than a top quality striker, it seems that the Portuguese manager is looking for a strong young defender.

The Blues were heavily linked with Danish defender Jores Okore as he was one of the stand out performers in the Champions League against them. However, the 20 year old chose Aston Villa despite knowing Chelsea’s interest. Now reports suggest that the London side want French international €12 Million star Kurt Zouma.

The highly rated youngster played 18 league games for the Ligue 1 side, scored two goals and currently serving his nation at the U20 World Cup. Knowing about interest from Chelsea, the defender told reporters:

“If you hear of interest from Chelsea and a great manager such as Jose Mourinho, you take notice,”

“It makes you happy, and it means you are on the right way to the top.

“I am relaxed about all the fuss about me being linked with big clubs, at the moment my focus is on the Under 20 World Cup. We have to try to win that with our generation of good young players”

Zouma is only 18 years old and will surely not like to miss the opportunity of playing for one of the best teams in Europe next season.

Althoug, Kurt has claimed that he is attracted by the idea of playing for Chelsea and a manager like Jose Mourinho still the quality he possess has drawn interest from other top clubs as well and it will not be easy for the Blues to get him.

Clubs like Anzhi, Bayern and Rossoneri are also reportedly keen on the defender. What makes him special is strength and positioning. Other than that, his height can come handy from set pieces as he has scored 4 goals in 40 appearances for the French side as well.

For now, he continues his international duty. Whether or not Chelsea will be able to sign him provided all the competition, only time will tell.
