Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille is the Ligue 1’s derby this round. Two teams that play attractive and attacking football will face each other in a direct clash for a Champions League spot. Despite it is too early, every point will matter for both teams at the end of the season.

Lyon have the host advantage while Marseille played the Europa League Final last season. This is expected to be the most entertaining match from the top 5 leagues this weekend.

Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille Odds

Lyon is the bookmakers’ favourite, priced at 2.15 to win. However, this is not the best bet you can make and any of the three endings of the match are possible. Both teams have proven to score much and take advantage of every mistake their opponents make. Despite the low price, both teams to score is the best bet here.
Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille both teams to score – 1.50

Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille Head to Head

Marseille have not manage to keep a clean sheet in 4 successive games against Lyon.
Both teams scored in 8 of the past 10 Marseille’s matches.
Lyon have not managed to keep a clean sheet in 3 successive games.
Lyon have won their last 3 matches against Marseille and have not lost to them 31 out of 36 matches.

Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille News

Both teams will have almost full squads available, which will make the game even more entertaining and explosive.
Amine Gouiri, Bertrand Traore, and Fernando Marcal are set to miss the game for Lyon.
Steve Mandanda will be missing for Marseille, while it is not sure whether Rolando will be fully fit for the tie.
Despite fans have not seen many goals in Lyon’s recent matches, it is expected the team to be extra motivated versus their rival Marseille. On the other hand, Marseille score over 2 goals on average in their away games.

Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille Predictions

An explosive match with a lot of shoots for both teams. Over 2.5 goals in the match looks very possible and so does the draw. Having in mind the statistics, the Asian Handicap can offer some valuable bets too.
Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille over 2.5 goals in match – 1.57
Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille draw and over 2.5 goals in match – 8.50
Olympique Lyon vs. Olympique Marseille 0.0-0.5 win for Lyon – 1.880

The France international was heavily tipped to join the Merseyside giants prior to the summer World Cup but the potential agreement has now been cancelled, according to Les Gones’ official website.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have already done their initial business for the summer with the announcement of Fabinho’s arrival from AS Monaco but unfortunately, they have been unable to get through a deal for Fekir.
The Frenchman is understood to have undergone a medical, agreed terms and had an introductory video with the Merseyside outfit but the club appear to have doubted their very own pursuit at the 11th hour.
As per The Mirror, the Reds were said to be concerned over the Frenchman’s injury concerns over his right knee and this prompted them to re-negotiate a lesser transfer sum which did not impress Les Gones.
Keeping this in regard, Les Gones have now made an official statement to confirm that Fekir won’t be making the move to Anfield this summer and they have gone to the extent of suggesting that the attacker will stay put with them for the next campaign.
Despite the announcement, Liverpool could remain optimistic over a deal for the Frenchman considering they found themselves in a similar position with Virgil van Dijk 12 months ago.
Back then, the Reds had to pull out of the pursuit of Southampton defender Van Dijk following an illegal approach from Klopp but they managed to sign the Dutchman six months later where they paid a club-record £75m fee for his services.
Liverpool have been fairly active since the resumption of the transfer window and they have already recruited Fabinho from AS Monaco. Any fresh negotiations for Fekir, however, may only begin following the summer World Cup.

Arsenal are already out of the title race and are currently 6th in the Premier League table. The North Londoners must strengthen their team in the winter transfer window if they are to get back into the Champions League for next season.
As far as the transfers are concerned, the Gunners have been linked with numerous quality attackers and one of them is Lyon star Nabil Fekir.
Last month, we covered a report (via Daily Star) claiming that Arsenal are close to agreeing a £60million deal to sign the French attacking midfielder. Star claimed that the deal was almost done.
As per the latest update exclusively provided by Daily Star, the Ligue 1 club are not ready to let their prized asset leave in the New Year.
It is mentioned that Arsenal want Fekir to replace Alexis Sanchez but they might have to wait for next summer to do that because Lyon are refusing to sell him next month.
The 24-year-old star has been in brilliant form for the French side in the current campaign. In 22 appearances in all competitions, he has directly contributed in 18 goals so far (15 goals and 3 assists).
If Nabil cannot join in January then the Gunners must hold on to Alexis until the end of the season. That way they will lose the Chilean for free but selling him in January without signing a replacement would be worse.

If that happens then the Red Devils must sign a top quality attacking midfielder and Nabil Fekir is surely one classy star.
The 24-year-old French international has been in fantastic form for Lyon this season and has attracted interest from top clubs.
In a recent interview with Telefoot, the Les Bleus star has talked about his future and claimed that he does not have a particular club in mind and could be open to signing for a number of clubs including Manchester United.
So far, he has scored 14 goals and provided 3 assists 21 appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season.
Last month, we covered a report (via Daily Star) in which Arsenal were considered close to signing the playmaker. On the other hand, Sport reported that Barca are also interested in Nabil, who’d cost around €50million.
In your opinion, is Fekir good enough to replace Mkhitaryan at Old Trafford?

At the moment, they are 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City.
As far as the transfers are concerned, yesterday, we covered a report (via The Sun) claiming that Wenger is ready to launch a move to sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha in January.
The Ivorian international is not the only attacking player wanted by Arsenal. As per an exclusive report covered by Daily Star, Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal to sign Nabil Fekir from Ligue 1 side Lyon.
In the current campaign, Nabil has been in fantastic form. In 11 league outings, he has directly contributed in no fewer than 14 goals (11 goals and 3 assists).
As per the provided Daily Star link, the Gunners are ready to sell the likes of Ozil and Alexis in the January window and a a deal of over 60 million pounds ($79million) is almost done to hire the services of Fekir.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp signed the likes of Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip to strengthen his back line last summer but the defense still proved to be inconsistent.
Therefore, the former Borussia Dortmund boss is looking to further bolster his defense this summer and he wants to sign another central defender.
Southampton star Virgil van Dijk has been in the lime light for a long time but now a new name is in the focus.
Italian football journalist Emanuele Giulianelli covered an exclusive report for The Sport Review last night and claimed that Liverpool have made a bid worth 17 million euros to sign Argentine center half Emanuel Mammana from Lyon.
The 21-year-old South American defender had an injury hit campaign last term and he could only feature in 17 league games for the French club (scored one goal).
Mammana has made three senior appearances for the national side and in all those contests, Argentina kept clean sheets. Liverpool need a proven quality center back to challenge for the title next season and in all fairness, Emanuel is not good enough.
Nevertheless, as per the provided Sport Review link, the Merseysiders are ready to offer him a five year contract worth $18million to secure his signing.

Arsenal have lacked a world class out and out center forward since Dutch star Robin van Persie left the club to join Manchester United few years back.
Since then, only Alexis Sanchez has managed to score 20+ league goals in a season (last campaign) for the Gunners. The likes of Welbeck and Giroud have been injury prone and not so consistent.
The North Londoners badly need a top striker this summer if they are to have any chance of winning for the PL title next season and reports suggest that they are close to signing (Telegraph) Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in a deal worth 52 million pounds ($67million).
The question is, should Arsenal really seal the signing of the French international?
In the last campaign, the 26-year-old striker netted 28 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon but detailed stats obtained by Oulala suggest that the North Londoners might be making a mistake by signing him.
Oulala is a daily Fantasy Football site with no seasonal commitments so you can register your team now and earn real cash. In case you are interested in American Football then you must join DRAFT to instantly get a bonus with Draft Promo Code.
As per the stats obtained by Oulala (infographic provided below), Alexandre did manage to score 28 league goals but it must be taken into consideration that 10 of those came from the penalty spot.
He played for 2408 minutes and scored 18 goals (excluding penalties) i.e 134 minutes per goal. On the other hand, Olivier Giroud played 1198 minutes in the Premier league and managed to score 12 goals (0 penalties) i.e 100 minutes per goal.
In the past three campaigns, Lacazette has scored 76 goals in a weak league (20 from the penalty spot).
Before moving to the Emirates, Giroud won the French title with Montpellier in the 2011-12 season and he was the joint leading goalscorer with 21 goals. However, since joining the Gunners, he has not been able to hit the 20-goal mark in the Premier League.
Even Didier Deschamps has mainly preferred Giroud over Lacazette. The Arsenal striker was a key member for France in World Cup 2014 and Euro 2016, whereas, the Lyon striker was not even selected in the competitions. He made his debut for the senior national side back in 2013 and so far, he has only played 11 times.
Therefore, it will be fair to say that Alexandre’s stats are not convincing and Arsenal might be making a mistake. In your opinion, is Lacazette good enough to be a hit in the Premier League?

Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League and it will be hard for them to attract the best of players in the continent.
Lately, the North Londoners have been heavily linked with a move to sign French international Alexandre Lacazette.
According to Telegraph, the Gunners have been told that they have to splash a sum of 60 million pounds (fee + add-ons) to hire the services of the Lyon center forward.
Last season, in 30 league games, the Les Bleus star directly contributed in 31 goals. Overall, he netted 37 goals and provided 5 assists in 45 outings for the Ligue 1 side.
Arsenal have lacked a world class striker since the departure of Dutch international Robin van Persie. The likes of Giroud and Welbeck are just not good enough to help Arsenal win the Premier League title and they badly need someone like Lacazette in the strike-force.
Without CL Football, Arsene Wenger must act fast or else, other top clubs may look to take advantage. Liverpool need and out and out striker as well and they have been tracking Lacazette for over three years (via Mirror).
In such a scenario, the French boss should not waste more time and must activate the £60million ($76million) release clause (Mirror) to secure the signature of the 26-year-old star.
The Gunners have already agreed the signing of Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke and are now interested in securing the signature of French international and Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette.
The North Londoners badly need a top quality out and out center forward and someone like Lacazette can surely improve Arsene Wenger’s strike-force.
According to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, Arsenal are stepping up the pace to hire the services of the 26-year-old star in a deal worth £50million.
The British source claim that Arsene Wenger is looking to sign the Les Bleus center forward and he met with Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas to secure a move.
Over the years, Alexandre has proved to be a brilliant goalscorer in the French Ligue and now he needs a new challenge. Last season, in 30 league appearances, he directly contributed in no fewer than 31 goals (28 goals and 3 assists).
He made his debut for the senior national side back in 2013 and so far in 10 outings, he has netted one goal.
Arsenal are not the only club interested in signing Lacazette. Few days back, we covered a report (via Mirror) claiming that Manchester United are ready to splash a fee of £50million to bring him to Old Trafford.

Manchester United signed superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer last summer and the retired Swedish international proved to be brilliant under the management of Mourinho.
This summer, the Red Devils need to sign a top center forward, who will serve the club in the years to come and the latest name in the lime light is Alexandre Lacazette.
The Les Bleus center forward is set to leave Lyon in the summer transfer window and more than a few top clubs are interested in hiring his services. Not to forget, he has a mammoth release clause of 60 million pounds (€69million) in his contract (Mirror).
Yesterday, Mirror reported that Jose Mourinho is set to make an offer worth 50 million pounds to secure his signature.
The British source claim that the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing him as well but the Old Trafford club have the financial power to outbid all the rivals in terms of wages.
The 26-year-old French international has been in fantastic form for Lyon in the past few years. In the recently concluded season, Lacazette netted 37 goals and provided 5 assists in 45 appearances for the Ligue 1 club.
United do have a quality starlet in their ranks in the form of Marcus Rashford but the teenage England international still needs to learn and gain more experience to become the first choice striker.
As per the provided Mirror link, United also have sights on stars like Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku. In your opinion, who should Manchester United sign to improve their strike-force?
