Goals & Highlights – Germany Finally Oust the Italians

Germany booked their place in the last four of the European Championships after finally beating the Italians in a major tournament.
The World Champions changed their system to battle the Azzurri and the two sides played with a very similar 3-5-2 formation.
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil opened the scoring in the 65th minute for the Germans. However, a silly mistake at the back by Boateng gifted Italy the chance to equalize. Bonucci stepped up for the Italians and scored from the spot.
With no further goals in normal/extra time, the game was decided on penalties. Germany are the greatest penalty-taking side in the history and after a lot of shootout drama, Joachim Low’s men eliminated Italy from Euro 2016.

Mourinho Ready to Seal $71million "Soldier" Signing for Man United

Manchester United have already secured the signing of a top central defender in the form of Eric Bailly, however, new manager Jose Mourinho wants to secure the services of another quality center half in the summer transfer window.
If reports are anything to go by then Mourinho is ready to beat his former club Chelsea and hire the services of Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci.
According to Daily Star, the Portuguese boss is looking for an experienced center back and the £50million ($71million) rated Juventus star perfectly fits the bill.
The 29-year-old Azzurri center back is one of the best defenders in the world and will largely improve Man United’s already strong back line. Not to forget, United had the best defensive record in the PL, along with Spurs, last season.
Motivational coach Alberto Ferrarini claimed that Leo is a “soldier” (Guardian) who always remains strong in the battle. Back in 2014, he stated:

“Over the years I took Bonucci into my basement. Underground. In the dark,”
“There, I offended him in every way possible. I judged him. I insulted him. If he made even the slightest attempt to glance at me, he’d receive a punch straight to the stomach. The objective? To win over judgement, so Leo would always be focused and ignore everything else … That’s how I made him into a soldier.”

Bonucci featured in 36 league games for the Old Lady last season and helped the team keep 21 clean sheets. He also scored 3 goals, provided 2 assists.
Currently, Leonardo is with the national side at the European Championships. The four time World Champions have qualified for the KO stages of the competition after winning their opening two games.

Italy and Belgium collided in their opening game of the Euro 16 last night. The four time World Champions proved to be too good for the Red Devils and won 2-0.

No Ban! Try Something New for Liverpool Star Luis Suarez

Uruguay’s win over Italy meant that the Azzurri crashed out of World Cup in group stages for the second successive time.
Diego Godin’s late winner sealed all three points for the South Americans who qualified as group runner ups behind high flying Costa Rica.
However, Uruguay may as well suffer a major setback before the Knock-out rounds as star striker Luis Suarez is found in yet another controversy.
FIFA will investigate an off the ball incident during the game where Suarez seems to have bitten Italian and Juventus defender Chiellini.
The Liverpool talisman was single handedly responsible to dismantle England scoring twice a few days back. Against Italians, he was a frustrated figure mostly because of Azzurri’s rigid and solid defense.
Football’s governing body are likely to hand Suarez a hefty ban which will probably mean that his World Cup might be over.
However, For some reason, bans and fines have done nothing to help Luis Suarez’s controversial side. Some players have that habit of headbutt, pushing, elbowing opponents to an extent but Suarez case is baffling. It seemed that he did nibble Chiellini and then immediately realized what he has done and acted as if he is hurt.
To fix Luis Suarez’s biting problem for good, something new should be tried. Not to forget he served 7 game ban for biting Bakkal and more recently served a 10 game ban in England for biting Chelsea’s Ivanovic.
The problem may as well be psychological. To do such act of madness not once, not twice but three times says it all. If not and it is physical then fix his teeth, get him braces or new crowns to stop that urge of biting players.
At the moment, there are not many players better than Luis Suarez, and that is exactly the reason why it is sad for a player like him to be involved in so many controversies.
