Liverpool have mainly been linked with Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita in this summer’s transfer window but latest reports suggest that a certain Uruguayan midfielder wants to join the Reds.
According to an exclusive report covered by Alfredo Pedulla, Genoa has put Diego Laxalt in the market and are demanding a fee of at least 30 million euros ($35million) (plus bonuses).
The Italian journalist has mentioned that the likes of Torino and West Ham United have got their bids rejected for the South American player.
Moreover, it is stated that Everton are thinking about signing the 24-year-old star but he dreams of joining Liverpool and knows that he is admired by Jurgen Klopp.
Also Read: Liverpool Certain to Make Huge Bid to Sign €72,000-a-week Star
The former Empoli player is a versatile talent, who can operate in multiple positions on the field but naturally, he is a left sided midfielder.
In the last campaign for the Serie A club, Diego featured in 36 league games, scored one goal and provided four assists.
Laxalt’s current deal will expire next year and therefore, it is baffling that Genoa are demanding a huge fee (mentioned above). His stats are average and Liverpool do not really need to sign him.

Since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp last season, no side has scored more goals in the Premier League than Liverpool. In the new season, the Reds are joint top scorers with Manchester City after seven games.
Still, the German manager wants to further bolster his options in the attacking third and if reports are anything to go by then Liverpool seem serious about signing a striker.
Liverpool sold the likes of Benteke and Balotelli in the summer transfer window and signing a new center forward probably makes sense.
According to Italian source TMW, Liverpool have been observing Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti closely and have actually traveled to Italy to scout the 27-year-old Italian forward.
The Azzurri star has been recently called up for the national team. Since joining Genoa, Pavoletti has been in good form. Last season, he scored 15 goals and provided 3 assists in 26 games. This season, he has netted 3 times in 5 appearances.
In all fairness, Liverpool have enough firepower up front and they must look to sort out the defense first. Klopp must sign a quality left back and a defensive midfielder before thinking about signing a center forward.
As per the provided TMW link, Liverpool are not the only ones looking at the possibility of signing Leonardo as Arsenal are interested as well.
The report also says that the two English giants are also linked with a move to sign French international Gregoire Defrel.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino must act swiftly in the summer transfer window and lure quality start to reinforce the squad.
Arch rivals Arsenal have already strengthened their team by signing Granit Xhaka from the Bundesliga and are closing in to sign Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy as well.
If the reports in the Italian media are anything to go by then Tottenham are serious about signing Uruguayan international Diego Laxalt.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the North Londoners have shown concrete interest in signing the 23-year-old Inter Milan star who played last season on loan with Genoa.
Last season, the pacy left midfielder featured in 35 league games for the Serie A side and directly contributed in 7 goals (3 goals and 4 assists). Laxalt’s performances deservedly earned him a place in the national side for the Copa America Centenario currently ongoing in the United States.
In your opinion, should Spurs sign Diego Laxalt?
The talented playmaker showcased his quality in the opportunities he got but never got a real chance at Anfield.
Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers sold him to AC Milan and even the Rossoneri did not give him a fair chance, warmed him on the bench before loaning him out to Genoa.
Since moving to Genoa in the winter transfer window, the 22-year-old Spanish international has been in brilliant form.
In 14 starts for the Serie A side, the former Cadiz attacker has directly contributed in no fewer than 8 goals (6 goals and 2 assists).
Today, the Spanish international scored a brace against rivals Sampdoria in the derby and helped Genoa win 3-0 away from home.
It remains to be seen whether AC Milan will want to bring him back after quality displays.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, they have an unwanted striker at the San Siro in the form of Mario Balotelli and the Reds must try to use him in a swap deal to re-sign Suso.
The former Manchester City striker has got no future at Anfield, however, a hard working technical attacker like Suso can thrive under the management of Jurgen Klopp.
Here is the video of his brilliant solo goal provided below.

Manchester United were solid at the back during the early stages of the season. However, slowly but surely their strong defensive line started to crumble mainly because of all the injury concerns.
Firstly, Luke Shaw broke his leg against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. His replacement, Marcos Rojo also suffered a long term injury. Currently, young defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is playing in the left full back position for the Red Devils.
As far as the central defense is concerned, Phil Jones has been out for quite some time as well. Moreover, the likes of Young and Valencia who can cover the full back positions are also injured at the moment (PhysioRoom).

In such a scenario, reports suggest that Italian side Genoa are confident of signing (Daily Star via TMW) young Man United right back Guillermo Varela on loan before transfer deadline ends tonight.
It will be a huge blunder if Man United let the defender leave because they do not have depth in the defense at the moment. Currently, Darmian is United’s first choice right back and if he gets injured, there is no one other than Varela to cover for him.
The Uruguayan has made two Premier League appearances for United this season and has also featured in the FA Cup and Champions League. The Old Trafford club must not loan him out no matter what.

Therefore, it does not come as a surprise that he has not been given any funds to reinforce the squad in the winter window and his future is also in doubt.
Arguably their best transfer move of the January window is to bring Adnan Januzaj back from his loan spell. On the other hand, the Red Devils have let a few players leave including Spanish goalie Victor Valdes who has joined Belgian side Standard Liege on loan for the rest of the season.

According to reports in the Italian media (TMW), Manchester United have reached an agreement with Genoa to let Uruguayan defender Varela join the Italian side on loan for the remainder of the season.
As per the provided TMW link, the Serie A club will pay Man United €600,000 to seal the loan deal for the South American right back.
The 22-year-old full back has featured in 2 league games for the Red Devils this season and also made an appearance in the Champions League as well.
