Nine years ago, 25th May 2005, Liverpool won their fifth European Cup in what is regarded as the greatest Champions League final comeback ever against Italian giants AC Milan.
The merseysiders had finished 5th in the premier league and their only hope of playing in Europe’s elite competition the following season was to win it.
Up against the best team in the competition, and 3 goals down at half time, majority thought the game was all but over.
However, Liverpool turned the scoreline around with six crazy second half minutes to draw level and then eventually went on to win the coveted prize on penalties.

Liverpool Classic – Johnson Sinks Chelsea at the Bridge

Liverpool and Chelsea have played many classic games over the years and today we bring you one classic goal from two years back.
Dalglish was in charge of the Reds and Villas Boas was then the manager of Chelsea as both teams collided at Stamford Bridge.
The merseysiders took the lead in the first half thanks to mistake from Blues goalie Cech. Suarez, Bellamy combined to set up Maxi Rodriguez for the opener.
Current Reds star striker Daniel Sturridge was on the score sheet in the 55th minute for Chelsea as he netted the equalizer but it wasn’t their night.
Former Blue Glen Johnson embarrassed Ashley Cole and scored a sublime finish in the 87th minute to sink Chelsea at the Bridge.

CLASSIC – Fabregas Volleys it In for Arsenal

Arsenal thrashed Blackburn 6-2 on the day at the Emirates with six different scorers. Apart from Cesc, Van Persie, Vermaelen, Walcott, Arshavin and Bendtner were on the score sheet.

Torres has tormented Chelsea since forever, when he was a Liverpool player and I guess even after joining the Blues for a hefty sum of 50 million pounds. A price tag that he has not justified, perhaps never will.

Liverpool Classic – Reina Carroll Kuyt Sink Man United

Classic – Liverpool will Remember him for This

Today we bring you another classic and this time it is Alberto Aquilani’s wonder striker against Atletico Madrid in Europa League for Liverpool.
The Italian midfielder was signed by Rafael Benitez as a direct replacement of Xabi Alonso. Sadly for Liverpool fans, they have not yet effectively replaced the Spaniard yet.
Nevertheless, Aquilani did not get his deserved chance at Anfield as well. In his injury hit first season, Aquilani scored 2 goals and provided 4 assists.
Rafa departed in summer and then Hodgson, Dalglish, and Rodgers sent him out because of they preferred mediocres like Poulsen, Adam and Allen.
Anyways, Aquaman could only score two goals for the merseysiders, both at the Kop end. Here is his last and most memorable goal. Perhaps Liverpool fans will remember Aquilani for this. He currently plays for Fiorentina.

He scored his first goal against them in the very first meeting after he joined Liverpool in January 2011. Suarez ran through the byline and blasted the ball in the net from an almost impossible angle.
Sunderland goalie, Simon Mignolet who now plays for Liverpool was left helpless. Although from that angle, he should have been favorite to save the shot but the former Ajax star was just too good and too clever.
Luis Suarez embarrassed Simon Mignolet there and the young Belgian goal keeper who is well aware of Suarez’s qualities will be glad he only has to play against him in trainings now.

GOAL – Flamini’s Last goal for Arsenal was a Stunner

Today, we look back on another classic goal, scored by none other than Arsenal’s Flamini in 2008 against Newcastle United.
Gunners were leading 1-0 thanks to former star striker Adebayor’s goal in the first half. With 15 odd minutes remaining, Flamini sealed the win with a spectacular 30 yard strike.
Shay Given had absolutely no chance of stopping that one.
That goal was Flamini’s last in the Arsenal shirt and was an absolute stunner.
