The merseysiders were linked with many attacking midfielders last summer. They failed to lure the likes of Willian and Mkhitaryan and in the end loaned Moses.
If they are to move to sign an AM in the next transfer window, Liverpool must target rising star, Romanian Alexandru Maxim.
The 23 year old currently plays for German Bundesliga side Stuttgart who are currently 7th in the league. Out of club’s 20 league goals this season, Maxim has directly contributed in 11 of them.
In 8 league games, Maxim has played 654 minutes in total, scored 4 goals and provided 7 assists. That is 59 Minutes per direct contribution in goal.
Best part is that the youngster is versatile, something that Rodgers looks for in a player. Capable of playing at both flanks as well as centrally, Reds can largely benefit from this talented Romanian.
SAS and Coutinho will run the attacking setup for Reds, but Liverpool do not have adequate quality replacements for them. Aspas has been average and injured lately and no one has been effective in replacing Phil.
For now, they are no concrete reports linking Maxim with Liverpool or any other top club. Reds must move for this rising star as the talent is inevitable and he is likely to be cheaper as compared to other quality players.
