The former Barcelona star who is one of the most decorated goalies in the modern game having won 3 Champions League had a torrid time at Old Trafford under the management of Louis van Gaal.

Arsenal Favorites as Prolific Goalscorer Wants Move

Gunners are ready to splash cash on a striker next summer but fans will be hoping that Arsenal sign someone experienced and not another young prospect who is not proven in a big league.
For now, they are linked with a young star who has been brilliant in the Belgian league.
The player in discussion is Standard Liege’s 20 year old prolific goalscorer Michy Batshuayi.
Michy is currently the leading goal scorer in the Jupiler Pro league having netted 18 goals in 29 appearances. Arsenal were linked with a move for star last year.
Now, the player has himself claimed that he wants to move and specifically named Arsenal as his favorite club. Michy stated:

“I don’t think I will play for Standard next season,”
“I want to move on. Maybe I will think about a longer stay if we play in the Champions League, but I want to progress as a player.”
“My preferred destinations are England or Germany. If you ask my favourite team, I’ll say Arsenal.”
“It is a club with a good philosophy, where youngsters get their chance. I’ve been an Arsenal fan since I was a kid.”

As per the provided Sky Sports link, the youngster has a release clause of 8 million Euros but will Wenger be willing to sign him?
He is a bright prospect but not many are able to adapt to premier league quickly. Moreover, since the departure of Robin van Persie, Arsenal have tried numerous strikers but none has been able to replace him.
Hence wasting time and money is not something Arsenal want, they must sign a proven experienced goalscorer.
Michy, well he can be considered as a backup after selling the likes of Giroud and Bendtner.

Arsenal’s search for a striker continues as Alvaro Morata is not coming to the Emirates in the winter transfer window.
Gunners are on top of the league and Champions League group, however their striking department lacks serious depth much needed to win the title and compete against the very best.
Olivier Giroud has done well for the North Londonders and it is likely that Wenger will not want him out of the starting 11 even when he does sign a new striker.
Therefore, either Arsenal should sign a versatile player who can play both as CF and in attacking midfield or a young proven striker but surely not injury prone like Yaya Sanogo.
Luis Suarez claimed that he is staying at Liverpool so Arsenal should forget about him as there is no hope what so ever.
According to Daily Star, Arsenal line up move for Belgian scoring sensation Michy Batshuayi who plays for Standard Liege.
The 20 year old star has started 15 league games this season and has netted no less than 12 goals.
Arsenal’s scouts have been monitoring the young forward and Liege’s president is well aware of the interest from top clubs. However, he is reluctant to let Michy leave this season.
The asking price is not yet known but Gunners surely have the funds and should try to sign the youngster as backup for Giroud and he can grow well under the management of Wenger.
Whether or not Michy will be the new Arsenal striker this winter, we shall see.
