Liverpool have so far failed in their pursuit to sign Naby Keita from Leipzig and it seems that they are already looking at alternatives.
To make matters worse, star midfielder Adam Lallana has been ruled out by the Merseysiders for the next two months at least. This means that Klopp must sign a new midfielder before deadline day to reinforce the department.
In such a scenario, a versatile French midfielder is linked with the Reds. The player in discussion is Rennais star Benjamin Andre.
According to French source Le Telegramme, Liverpool are going to make a solid offer for the 27-year-old midfielder in the next few days. It is expected that the offer will be worth 17 million euros.
Andre can play anywhere in the midfield. He mostly played in the central midfield last season but Le Telegramme suggest that the 27-year-old star is naturally a play breaker.
In the last campaign, Benjamin featured in 36 league games for the French side and provided 3 assists.
Liverpool have lacked a proven quality defensive midfielder since the departure of Javier Mascherano to Barcelona in 2010. In the current squad, the likes of Can and skipper Henderson can operate in the DM role but they are not specialist play breakers.
In your opinion, should Klopp sign Benjamin Andre?

The Europa League finalists Liverpool must strengthen the quality of their squad for next season and the Reds are currently linked with numerous attacking players.
One player in the lime light was French international and Rennes playmaker Ousmane Dembele. The 18-year-old attacker has been in brilliant form for the Ligue 1 side this season and has attracted interest from top clubs.
According to the Guardian yesterday, Liverpool moved into serious contention in the race to sign Dembele who is rated around $40 million.
Liverpool made a formal approach to sign the talented starlet and had to battle the likes of Dortmund.
In the end, the Reds have failed to get their man and the German club has officially secured the signing (Goal) of the French international.
Ousmane can play as a winger on either flank, as a central attacking midfielder and also as a center forward. The Les Bleus star has scored 12 goals and provided 5 assists in 25 league games for Rennes this season (Picture: Getty).
The Reds will face reigning champions Sevilla in Basel on 18th May. The winner will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season’s Champions League.
Whether or not Liverpool can make it into Europe elite competition next season, they must improve the over all quality of the squad.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to add more firepower in the attack and reports (Talksport via L’Equipe) suggest that Liverpool have moved in with a formal offer to sign Rennes’ versatile attacker Ousmane Dembele.
The 18-year-old French starlet has been in brilliant form for the Ligue 1 side this season.
In 24 league appearances, Dembele has directly contributed in no fewer than 17 goals (12 goals and 5 assists).
Capable of playing on either flank and also as a central attacking midfielder, Ousmane will improve any side.
As per the provided Talksport link, the likes of Manchester City and Dortmund are also interested in signing the young attacker and Rennes want around $29m for their prized asset.
Therefore, Liverpool must act swiftly if they are to sign Dembele.

Tottenham Hotspur have been brilliant under the management of Mauricio Pochettino this season and they must strengthen the squad further to compete in the Champions League next season.
Last summer, the North Londoners signed two versatile attackers in the form of Son and Njie. If reports are anything to go by then Spurs have moved in to sign another versatile playmaker in the form of Ousmane Dembele of Rennes.
According to France Football, Mauricio Pochettino is interested in signing the starlet and last week Spurs have held talks over a move for the 18-year-old attacker in London.

The teenage French international has been in brilliant form this season for the Ligue 1 side. In 21 league games, Dembele has directly contributed in no fewer than 17 goals (12 goals and 5 assists).
Ousmane has effectively played on both flanks and also as an attacking midfielder. In all fairness, Spurs already have quality attacking line with players like Eriksen, Alli, Lamela, Chadli, Son and Njie.
Yes, Dembele may turn out to be another hit as well but Pochettino must sign an out and out forward first to strengthen the strike-force. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds.
