Liverpool registered their place in the semi finals of the EFL Cup after beating Leeds United 2-0 at Anfield last night.
The Reds were far from brilliant with their second string side and scored two late goals to qualify for the last four.
First goal was set up by young Trent Alexander. The 18-year-old provided a wonder cross from the right wing and Origi did the rest to open the scoring for the Reds.
The second was scored by Ben Woodburn and the 17-year-old created history by becoming the youngest ever goalscorer for the Merseysiders, beating Michael Owen’s record. The teenage boy featured for just 23 minutes, had just one shot and made it count big time.
Ben has been in brilliant form in the Premier League 2 this season. In 10 appearances, the talented attacker has directly contributed in no fewer than 10 goals (5 goals and 5 assists).

Tonight, the Reds face Leeds United in the last eight of the EFL Cup and should be considered favorites to go through to the semi finals.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has made more than a few changes in the starting lineup that featured vs the Black Cats on Saturday.
Liverpool will be playing the 4-3-3 formation again and only Sadio Mane retains his starting place in the attack. Brazilian duo Firmino and Coutinho have been replaced by Origi and Ejaria in the starting XI.
Kevin Stewart replaces captain Jordan Henderson in the defensive midfield role. He will be partnered by Can and Wijnaldum in the center of the park.
Mignolet starts in goal and the likes of Moreno, Klavan, Lucas and Alexander-Arnold return to lineup in the defense. Lucas will captain the team tonight.

In such a scenario, the German boss may trust his young attacking playmakers to do the job. Hence, the likes of Ejaria and Woodburn may get the nod to start in the attack with lone striker Divock Origi.
As far as the midfield is concerned, Stewart, Grujic and Wijnaldum should start in the center of the park.

Manchester United suffered a double set back against PSV Eindhoven in their opening CL group stage game on Tuesday night.
Not only did the Red Devils taste defeat but they also lost the first choice left back Luke Shaw. The England international broke his leg and will probably be out for the rest of the season (Star).
In his absence, United do have players like Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo who can cover the left full back position. However, the duo are not natural full backs and in such a scenario, Louis van Gaal will have to sign a replacement for Shaw.
According to Daily Star, Manchester United boss is keen on Leeds’ Charlie Taylor and has sent scouts to track the England international several times.
As per the Star link, in the absence of Luke Shaw, manager Louis van Gaal could move in with a 4 million pounds move to sign Charlie in the winter transfer window.
Last season, the 21-year-old defender featured 25 times for Leeds scored two goals and provided an assist as well (Transfermarkt).
